HBO Max Has Canceled ‘The Boondocks’ Reboot
According to reports, HBO Max has now canceled its plans for The Boondocks reboot. Back in 2019, HBO‘s streaming platform had ordered a two-season, 24-episode return of the adult animated sitcom from creator Aaron McGruder and Sony Pictures Animation. The reboot was initially set to start with a 50-minute special in fall 2020 but plans did not come to fruition. It was also noted that the reboot would see Robert “Granddad” Freeman and his grandsons Huey and Riley move to an idyllic community in suburban Maryland. Only to be met by Uncle Ruckus, who had taken over the once peaceful community. Sony Pictures Animation is now seeking new options for The Boondocks reboot. Disney+ Greenlights ‘Star Wars: Andor’ for a Second Season
Disney has reportedly greenlit Star Wars: Andor for a second season before its first one even premieres. In a recent Swedish interview, co-creator Stellan Skarsgård told Dagens Nyheter that Disney has already approved a second season for the show and that shooting will commence later this year. “We start with [filming Dune: Part Two] in July. And then in the autumn, it’s time for the second season of the Star Wars series Andor,” the creative remarked. “I do not know when they will start broadcasting it. It will take some time so that it does not take too long between season one and season two.” As for season one itself, Disney is currently scheduling its premiere for some time during the fourth quarter of this year. The Amityville Murders are Getting Its Own Docuseries
Since its original release in 1977, The Amityville Horror by Jay Anson has gone on to inspire countless horror films and franchises, and now you’ll be able to learn about the true events that itself inspired the terrifying book. Titled The Making of a Haunting: The Amityville Murders, the new docuseries is produced by B17 Entertainment and slated to release on Epix. The show’s four parts will investigate the real incident that inspired Anson’s book, where a man named Ronald Joseph DeFeo Jr. murdered his father, mother, two brothers, and two sisters in the infamous Amityville house back in 1974. After multiple musicians including Neil Young and Joni Mitchell decided to have their music pulled from Spotify in protest of COVID-19 misinformation shared on Joe Rogan’s podcast, Rogan came under fire on social media this weekend when video surfaced documenting his repeated use of the n-word on episodes of his podcast. His comments were amplified by India.Arie on Thursday, who also pulled music from the platform in protest of Rogan’s racist comments.
