Halestorm have announced their fifth studio album, Back From the Dead, which will arrive on May 6th. In advance of the release, the band has unveiled the new single “The Steeple.” The album news comes roughly a half year after frontwoman Lzzy Hale and company unleashed the fiery title track back in August. “The Steeple” picks right up where “Back From the Dead” left off, as Halestorm serve up another hard-rocking track. In addition to Lzzy’s mighty vocals, “The Steeple” features some nifty guitar work from Joe Hottinger and some muscular playing from drummer Arejay Hale and bassist Josh Smith. In the anthemic chorus, Lzzy belts out, “This is my kingdom/ This is my cathedral/ This is my castle/ These are my people/ This is my armor/ This is my anchor/ It’s been a long road/ Outta hell up to...
As Fleetwood Mac prepared to make its 11th album — and second with its latest lineup — in 1976, it was on top of a world that was falling apart. The group’s self-titled 1975 release, its first with new American members Lindsey Buckingham and Stevie Nicks, had revived the veteran British band’s flagging fortunes. It was certified seven times platinum and gave Fleetwood Mac its first No. 1 album in the U.S., spawning three Top 20 hits. The group was top of the pops, quite literally. But the quintet wasn’t quite able to bask in its success. All hell broke loose, also quite literally, between albums. Buckingham and Nicks, a couple when they joined Fleetwood Mac, broke up. Singer-keyboardist Christine McVie and bassist John McVie ended their eight-year marriage. Drummer Mick Fleetwood and his w...

Frusciante added: “When we got together to start writing material, we began by playing old songs by people like Johnny ‘Guitar’ Watson, the Kinks, the New York Dolls, Richard Barrett, and others. Ever so gradually, we started bringing in new ideas, and turning jams into songs, and after a couple of months the new stuff was all we were playing. The feeling of effortless fun we had when we were playing songs by other people, stayed with us the whole time we were writing. For me, this record represents our love for, and faith in each other.” Content This content can also be viewed on the site it originates from.
