After closing the book on a breakthrough 2021, Rich DietZ have kicked off the year with a brand new single called “Work Song.” In typical Rich DietZ fashion, the track is a house music stroke of genius. Arriving ahead of the spring season, “Work Song” isn’t a breezy poolside track, but a banger designed to induce noodle-flailing pool riots. Cover art for Rich DietZ’s new single, “Work Song.” One of the more coveted unreleased tunes from their repertoire, “Work Song” interlaces hip-hop-inspired samples in its arrangement, which beautifully blends elements of tech and G-House. Influencers Try to Cancel Leatherface in Trailer for Netflix’s Texas Chainsaw Massacre: Watch

Threatening to “cancel” Leatherface hardly seems like a wise move, but that’s one influencer’s approach when facing off against the iconic serial killer in Netflix’s new trailer for Texas Chainsaw Massacre. “Try anything and you’re canceled, bro,” the influencer says to Leatherface, while recording the short-lived showdown on his phone. Undeterred, the mass murderer revs up his signature chainsaw and takes out each person on the party bus one by one. The 2022 Texas Chainsaw Massacre marks the direct sequel to the original 1974 horror classic and centers around the idea of young people revitalizing a ghost town in Texas. Naturally, bratty teens along for the ride aren’t happy about the idea in the first place, and their hesitance is proven to be right when a certain chainsaw-wielding m...

The New York Times Buys Wordle for $_ _ _ _ _ _ _

Wordle, the viral word game which offers players six chances to puzzle out a five-letter word, has been purchased by The New York Times to bolster their ever-expanding collection of brain-teasing games. The New York Times Company left a blank space in place of the actual price, though they did say the purchase involved a number “in the low seven figures.” The invention of Brooklyn engineer Josh Wardle, Wordle (yup, it’s a pun) rolled out last October. It had less than 100 users per day on November 1st, but by the middle of the month that number had ballooned to over 300,000. Nirvana Hits Back at Spencer Elden (Again) in Nevermind Cover Lawsuit: ‘This Case Must End’

Nirvana has filed another motion to dismiss in their ongoing legal dispute with Spencer Elden, who is accusing them of sexually exploitive imagery on the Nevermind cover. In the filing obtained by SPIN, Nirvana’s counsel makes their stance clear: “This case must end.” Nirvana is asking the court “for an order dismissing this action, with prejudice” and, once again, “on the ground that it is barred by the statute of limitations.” Based on Elden’s allegations, Nirvana says that “no amendment is possible to salvage the claim.” Continuing, the motion says “In his ever-shrinking pleading, Elden has now dismissed all but one of the myriad state- and federal-law claims he previously attempted to charge against Defendants.” It also said that the 10-year statute doesn’t cover when Elden was a minor...

Petition Calling For Travis Scott To Be Reinstated As Coachella Headliner Removed For “Fraudulent Activity”

HipHopWired Featured Video Source: Rick Kern / Getty Nice try, but this petition calling for Travis Scott to be allowed to touch the Coachella stage this year turned out to be a pure jig. Per Buzzfeed News, a fan-made Change.org petition was removed by the website after learning that 60,000 of the signatures it acquired were fugazi. On January 26, multiple outlets reported on the petition garnering attention before the website took action after noticing the number of signatures declined overnight from over 70,000 to barely reaching 5,000 on January 27. Related Stories Scott’s fans, the “ragers,” also noticed the drop, one of them pondered in the comment section under the petition, “Why the signs keep going down wtf going on here @change.org.” The website didn’t respond to the fan but respo...

Joe Rogan Comments On Artists Ditching Spotify, Apologizes To DSP

HipHopWired Featured Video Source: LIONEL BONAVENTURE / Getty Joe Rogan attracts plenty of attention not only due to the massive popularity of his podcast but also his assumed stances against the handling of COVID-19 in the mainstream. However, his presence or Spotify has been somewhat disruptive to the business and Rogan took time to apologize to the DSP as a result. Rogan, who hosts the popular The Joe Rogan Experience, entered into an exclusive $100 million deal with the audio streaming service as part of its slate of original podcast programming. Rogan built an audience based on candid conversations and the occasional controversial guests, and part of that is why singer Neil Young opted to remove his entire catalog from Spotify.
