Former KILLSWITCH ENGAGE singer Howard Jones rejoined the band on stage at the opening concert of the Massachusetts metallers’ U.S. tour Friday night (January 28) at Stage AE in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania to perform three songs, “The Signal Fire”, “Rose Of Sharyn” and “The End Of Heartache”. Studio Ghibli Theme Park Releases Official Trailer and Opening Date

The world’s first Ghibli Park, located in Nagakute city, Japan, around three hours train ride from Tokyo, has officially announced an opening date. The heavily anticipated theme park will be split into five sections: Hill of Youth, Ghibli’s Large Warehouse, Mononoke’s Village, Valley of Witches, and Dondoko Forest. Each section blends with the expansive natural landscape of the park, and references and recreates settings from Hayao Miyazaki’s hit classics such as My Neighbor Totoro, Laputa: Castle in the Sky, Princess Mononoke, Spirited Away, Howl’s Moving Castle, and more. The Ghibli Theme Park will open on November 1. Janet Jackson Advised Justin Timberlake To Stay Silent About Super Bowl Incident

Janet Jackson revealed that she spoke to Justin Timberlake just once after the infamous “wardrobe malfunction” incident at the 2004 Super Bowl halftime show, advising him to remain silent. In part 4 of her new Lifetime documentary series Janet Jackson., recalls telling him “I don’t want any drama for you. They’re aiming this at me. If I was you I wouldn’t say anything.” Jackson also said that Timberlake reached out to perform with her again at his 2018 performance at the Super Bowl halftime show. She said that while it would be nice, she didn’t want to have to relive the ordeal, and obliquely referenced her “history” with CBS. LCD Soundsystem to Perform on SNL

LCD Soundsystem has been announced as the musical guest on Saturday Night Live on February 26. John Mulaney, a former head writer on the show, is set to host. LCD Soundsystem shared their holiday special on Amazon Prime Video last month, starring Macaulay Culkin, Aparna Nancherla, and Eric Wareheim. Their 20-date residency at Brooklyn Steel in December was cut short as a COVID-19 surged over the holidays. John Mulaney, who last hosted SNL in 2020, joined the Late Night With Seth Meyers staff as a writer shortly after that appearance. New Found Glory’s Chad Gilbert Announces He’s Cancer-Free

New Found Glory guitarist Chad Gilbert has announced that he’s cancer free. “Half a liver, a gallbladder, & one adrenal gland later, I am officially cancer free. All my tests and scans came back clear!” Gilbert wrote on Instagram. “My endocrinologist, surgeon, & oncologist [teamed] up and [took] down my Pheochromocytoma more swiftly & efficiently than the Avengers could defeat Thanos in Infinity War.” Last month, Gilbert announced that he had spent two weeks in the hospital after his wife found him unconscious on December 5th. An endocrinologist diagnosed him with Pheochromocytoma, a rare type of neuroendocrine tumor that attacks the adrenal glands and causes drastic hormone imbalances. La Luz’s Shana Cleveland Diagnosed With Breast Cancer

Shana Cleveland, guitarist of the Los Angeles psych-rock band La Luz, has been diagnosed with breast cancer. As a result, the band has canceled its upcoming tour. “Normally a month before a tour we’d be blasting you with show announcements but we’ve been forced to shift our focus upon finding out that Shana has breast cancer,” the members of La Luz wrote in a message posted to social media. “While we’re still waiting to get info on what treatment will look like, it seems clear we won’t be able to make this East Coast Tour happen in March.” La Luz’s upcoming East Coast/Midwest run was scheduled to begin in Philadelphia on March 3rd, wrapping up in Washington D.C. later that month.
