The Smile have shared their second-ever single. “The Smoke” follows Thom Yorke, Jonny Greenwood, and Tom Skinner’s debut track “You Will Never Work in Television Again.” Listen to the Smile’s “The Smoke” below. “The Smoke” is produced by Nigel Godrich and features contributions from Sons of Kemet tuba player Theon Cross and British jazz trumpeter Byron Wallen, who contributed greatly to Greenwood’s score for the film Spencer. Additional contributors include saxophonists Chelsea Carmichael and Jason Yarde, trombonist Nathaniel Cross (brother of Theon), and multi-instrumentalist Robert Stillman. Kanye West has announced Donda 2 via his Instagram. According to the post, the new album will be executive produced by Future and get released on February 22. Check it out below. West and Future recently performed together at Rolling Loud California. The rappers collaborated in 2014 on the Honest song “I Won.” Donda 2 had been mooted by Steven Victor—the former chief operating offices of West’s G.O.O.D. Music and also the former executive vice president and Head of A&R at Def Jam Recordings. Victor told Complex, “Ye has started working on his new masterpiece Donda 2.” He added in a subsequent interview with Complex, “ Listen, [Donda 2 is] coming sooner than you think. The procession is starting and it’s not stopping.” Donda 2 will be the sequel to West’s last album, released in August....

Charli XCX has shared the new song “Beg for You,” featuring Rina Sawayama. It’s the latest single from her upcoming album Crash—due March 18. London-based musician Digital Farm Animals produced “Beg for You.” Check it out below. Last November, Charli XCX released Crash’s single “New Shapes,” a collaboration with Caroline Polachek and Christine and the Queens. They were scheduled to perform the track together on Saturday Night Live, but the performance was canceled due to concerns over the Omicron variant of COVID-19. The Mighty Mighty Bosstones are breaking up. “After decades of brotherhood, touring the world and making great records together we have decided not to continue on as a band,” the ska group wrote in a statement. “Above all, we want to express our sincere gratitude to every single one of you who have supported us. We could not have done any of it without you.” Lead singer Dicky Barrett founded the Mighty Mighty Bosstones in Boston with saxophonist Tim “Johnny Vegas” Burton, guitarist Nate Albert, drummer Josh Dalsimer, trumpeter Tim Bridwell, and Ben Carr in the 1980s. The band released its debut, Devil’s Night Out, in 1989 via Taang! Records.
