Kanye West’s recent public demand to have final approval over jeen-yuhs, the three-part documentary about his career, is not the first time he’s tried to have a say in the docs’ narrative. Filmmaker Coodie Simmons recalls conversations with the rapper about jeen-yuhs when it was in earlier stages. “When it came down to making it, I had to let him know to make this film authentic, he had to step back,” says Simmons, who co-directed the doc with Chike Ozah, in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter. “I had to take control of this narrative that God created — we didn’t create this. DJ Khaled Gifts Kanye West Rare Air Jordan 3’s, Working On Music Too

HipHopWired Featured Video Source: @djkhaled / Instagram Kanye West and DJ Khaled have been in the studio working on what surely is a future smash hit (we’ll let you decide if there’s sarcasm there). Perhaps more importantly, Khaled hooked his homie Ye up with a very rare pair of Air Jordan 3’s. Of course, the gifting had to be shared on social media or else it wouldn’t have actually happened. The kicks in question are the blue Father Of Asahd x Air Jordan 3’s that Khaled officially cooked up with Jordan Brand. As Khaled repeatedly says, only 100 were made, and he also noted that he doesn’t have any left in the caption of the video. Related Stories Recently, Ye through sneakerheads for a loop when he shared a pic of the Jumpman logo and an old social media post from Michael Jordan’s son Ma...

As he alluded to in the opening monologue of his first SNL hosting gig this weekend, most of the people he used to work with on the show have already returned to host: Wiig, Hader, Andy Samberg, Seth Meyers, frequent co-conspirator Jason Sudeikis, and even fellow weirdo Fred Armisen. Saving the best for “way last,” as he put it in his monologue, is typical of Forte’s actual tenure on the show, which was long (eight seasons), distinguished (the vast majority of Forte-focused sketches are very funny), and at his own pace. As such, his...
