Vic Mensa has been released from custody after he was reportedly busted at Washington, D.C.’s Dulles International Airport with a stash of LSD and a variety of psychedelic mushrooms. The Chicago emcee (born Victor Kewsi Mensah) was charged with felony narcotics possession charges on Saturday (Jan. 15) following his return to the U.S. from Ghana. Hipgnosis Song Management has acquired 80% of country superstar Kenny Chesney’s recorded music royalties. The deal is the first acquisition made by Hipgnosis since its new $1 billion partnership with Blackstone, announced in October, to acquire music rights and manage catalogs and is also Hipgnosis’s first deal with a country superstar. The pact covers Chesney’s recorded music royalties over a 23-year period, from 1994’s In My Wildest Dreams, his debut on Capricorn Records, through 2017’s Live in No Shoes Nation. Chesney recorded for Sony Music Nashville imprints from 1995 to 2017. The deal also includes future greatest hits, live and acoustic albums. “Weird Al” Yankovic has announced that he is the writer, producer, and subject of the new biopic film Weird: The “Weird Al” Yankovic Story. Daniel Radcliffe will star as Yankovic. Mick Fleetwood of Fleetwood Mac has signed on to produce a new musical drama series called 13 Songs with Fox, Variety reports. The show follows an aging rock star who seeks out his band after being diagnosed with terminal cancer. Fleetwood will serve as an executive producer, contribute “creative ideas” and music to the series. In 2013, Fleetwood Mac canceled a 2013 tour of Australia and New Zealand after bassist John McVie was diagnosed with cancer. Last year, Fleetwood Mac reissued their debut live album, 1980’s Fleetwood Mac Live.
