My Chemical Romance, Paramore, Jimmy Eat World, Avril Lavigne, Bright Eyes AFI and Dashboard Confessional feature. Additionally, some more recent additions to When We Were Young’s lineup include Wolf Alice, Car Seat Headrest, jxdn and Palaye Royale. ‘Moon Knight’ Receives Official Disney+ Release Date for March
With Moon Knight‘s full-length trailer premiere just around the corner, the upcoming Marvel Studios series has just announced its release date for this March. In a new video posted by Marvel-centric Twitter account @PhaseZeroCB, ESPN announcers during the NFL Super Wild Card matchup revealed that the highly anticipated origin story of Marc Spector — portrayed by Oscar Isaac — will arrive on Disney+ on March 30. The series itself will follow Spector’s death and subsequent transformation into the titular anti-hero, with Total Recall and The Magnificent Seven veteran Ethan Hawke playing the main villain for the season. New Gen: Spring 2021 contender Joyce Wrice has been enlisted to sing the theme song for Disney’s upcoming The Proud Family reboot. Google Pays Tribute to Betty White on What Would’ve Been Her 100th Birthday
In celebration of what would’ve been legendary comedian Betty White‘s 100th birthday on January 17, Google has now paid tribute to her with a new Easter egg. When fans look up her name over on the search engine, you’ll be led to the first page of her results, but with an animation of rose petals coming down from the top of the page along with a poster-like message reading “Thank you for being a friend.” Incidentally, that’s also the name of Andrew Gold’s song which was used as the opening theme for The Golden Girls. Jawbreaker, the seminal punk band whose time was curtailed way too soon, are hitting the road for a rare tour. The band’s only major-label album, Dear You, turned 25 a few years ago and in its honor, the Bay Area-bred punks are hitting the road for it. Though technically this is the 27th anniversary of the album’s release, the band notes that “The last two years don’t count.” Following Dear You, the band would break up in 1996 before reuniting in 2017 for a tour. The band’s work on Dear You was chronicled in Dan Ozzi’s book, Sellout: The Major-Label Feeding Frenzy That Swept Punk, Emo and Hardcore (1994–2007). Slipknot Announce Knotfest Roadshow Tour Itinerary
Slipknot has unveiled the 2022 iteration of their notorious Knotfest Roadshow tour, with the band taking on two headlining legs across 55 cities throughout the U.S. and Canada. Tickets for all shows go on sale 10 am local time on Friday, Jan. 21 through the band’s tour website. Tech giant Microsoft will buy the video game publisher Activision Blizzard in a $68.7 billion deal that would reshape the gaming landscape. The deal, if completed, would bring together Microsoft, which owns the Xbox game platform and Xbox Game Studios (which owns Bethesda Softworks and 343 Industries, among other game publishers) and Activision, owner of the Call of Duty, Warcraft and Tony Hawk franchises, among others.
