Daniel Radcliffe to Star as ‘Weird Al’ Yankovic in Upcoming Biopic

“Weird Al” Yankovic is finally getting his own biopic, Weird: The Al Yankovic Story, with none other than Harry Potter star Daniel Radcliffe playing the “Eat It” singer. Yankovic penned the screenplay alongside Eric Appel, who is also directing and executive producing the movie. The film will be available exclusively on The Roku Channel, with Funny Or Die and Tango producing, and filming begins in February in Los Angeles. Funny enough, Funny or Die, Yankovic, and Appel produced a fake trailer back in 2010 for Weird: The Al Yankovic Story, and instead of Radcliffe, Breaking Bad star Aaron Paul was set to star as Yankovic. At Wit’s End, Mizmor Turns Inner turmoil Outward

Changing your sound rarely feels autobiographical. But for Liam Neighbors, a.k.a. A.L.N., the man behind Portland blackened doom band Mizmor (often written as מזמור, the Hebrew word for “psalm”), it is. Though not a strict, sober play-by-play of his life, Mizmor has largely been a journey of a man losing his faith. Albums like 2016’s Yodh and 2019’s Carin reflect that conflict through weighty black metal rendered through doom’s bigger scopes. They sounded hymnal, but not reverent, quite appropriate for someone struggling to leave God and his former life wrapped up in God behind. His latest EP Wit’s End, which came out last Friday on Gilead Media, does not represent a conclusion to his journey, but a point much different from where he started. For one, his belief, the thing he spent albums ...

CRADLE OF FILTH’s DANI FILTH: How Pandemic Affected Making Of ‘Existence Is Futile’ Album

Vocalist Dani “Filth” Davey of veteran British extreme metallers CRADLE OF FILTH recently spoke to HeavyMetal.dk about how the pandemic affected the making of the band’s new album, “Existence Is Futile”. He said (as transcribed by BLABBERMOUTH.NET): “The album was written before the pandemic. The drums, fortunately, were recorded before any lockdown which was, obviously, brilliant because our drummer [Martin ‘Marthus’ Škaroupka] is from the Czech Republic, so he wouldn’t have been able to get over to record. And in fact, [guitarist] Ashok [Marek Šmerda], who’s also from the Czech Republic, didn’t arrive in the studio until five months after Martin. But with the drums down and the fact that we demoed everything very extensive...
