It’s been three long years since his Excision‘s last album, but the day fans have been waiting for since 2018 is finally here. Starting off 2022 with a meteoric bang, Excision has unveiled Onyx, which delivers 17 tracks comprising instant classics, long-awaited IDs, and high-profile collaborations. Released on his label, Subsidia, Excision’s fifth album is the long-awaited follow-up to 2018’s Apex LP. Like a ride through a post-apocalyptic Jurassic Park, Onyx‘s opener, “Decimate,” flings listeners headlong into a mechanical labyrinth of cinematic and intense sounds. His signature, high-powered bass barrage pulverizes the arrangements in similar fashion in songs like “Demisaur” (with Kai Wachi), “Clockwork” (wi...

The Batman Gets a PG-13 Rating Despite Dark Undertones

Despite Robert Pattinson’s bone-chilling stare and Gotham City’s perennially dark atmosphere, don’t expect the forthcoming Batman adaptation to get too NSFW. Matt Reeves’ The Batman has earned a PG-13 rating from the Motion Picture Association after predictions that it would end up rated R. Variety points out the MPA rated The Batman PG-13 for “strong violent and disturbing content, drug content, strong language, and some suggestive material.” Sources close to the film say that its foul language is minimal, and the violent scenes tend to focus more on things like car crashes and explosions. Speculation that The Batman would be rated R was largely based around Warner Bros. Picture Group chairman Toby Emmerich’s vision to further distinguish DC films from Disney’s Marvel franchise, whic...

Tupac Shakur’s Sister Sues Executor of Their Mother’s Estate for Embezzlement

Sekyiwa Shakur, the sister of Tupac Shakur, has filed a lawsuit against the executor of their late mother’s estate for embezzling “millions of dollars” and refusing to return items owned by the family. According to reports, the suit alleged that Tom Whalley, the executor of Afeni Shakur-Davis’ estate, committed “blatant violations” in his position as executor. “He has effectively embezzled millions of dollars for his own benefit,” Sekyiwa accused in the suit. “Whalley has unreasonably enriched himself at the expense of the beneficiaries and in bad faith by taking excessive compensation in a position from which he should properly be barred based on the inherent conflict of interest.” The suit adds that Whalley supposedly made himself the manager of Amaru Entertainment — the record label han...

Sony Reportedly Wants to Produce More PS4s to Deal With PlayStation 5 Shortage

According to reports, Sony is set to produce more PlayStation 4 units to deal with the PlayStation 5 shortage. Originally planning to end production of new PS4 consoles by the end of 2021, the Japanese tech company has been forced to reconsider its aim to transition to its next-gen console. Exasperated by the COVID-19 pandemic, chip shortages and supply chain issues have made it difficult for sony to match the demand for the PS5. Reports go on to note that Sony is planning to produce an additional million PS4 units in 2022, which requires significantly less advanced chips and is much cheaper to manufacture. Although this is not what gamers have been asking for, it is interesting to note that upcoming Sony PlayStation exclusive titles like God of War: Ragnarok and Horizon: Forbidden West wi...
