Pearl Jam frontman Eddie Vedder has confirmed the tracklist for his upcoming solo album, Earthling, due February 11 via Seattle Surf/Republic. The third single from the 13-song project, “Brother the Cloud,” is due out Friday (January 14), the same day “Earthling” will be available for digital pre-order, and follows the earlier release of the singles “Long Way” and “The Haves.” A short snippet of “Brother the Cloud” can now be heard on Vedder’s YouTube channel. The intensely personal track will no doubt invite speculation as to its subject, as Vedder sings, “I had a brother but now my brother is gone / I search the sky for a glimpse of his blue eyes.” The chorus finds him at the top of his vocal register as he pleads, “If I could wish / wish it away / I would bleed out my knees and pray / t...
San Francisco Bay Area thrashers VIO-LENCE have returned with “Flesh From Bone”, their first song in 29 years. The track comes from their upcoming EP, “Let The World Burn”, their first original release since 1993’s “Nothing To Gain”. The five-song collection will be available worldwide on March 4 via Metal Blade Records. “This is the first VIO-LENCE song I had written in close to 30 years,” admits founding guitarist Phil Demmel. “I wanted to keep some of those early ‘Eternal Nightmare’ [debut album, 1988] qualities intact but infuse a lot of what I’ve culled into my songwriting arsenal over the decades. ‘Flesh From Bone’ has the frenetic picking/fingering riffs and the solo trade-offs that are pretty ...
Former JUDAS PRIEST touring guitarist Andy Sneap says that he is “incredibly” disappointed by the band’s decision to perform as a quartet on its upcoming tour. Sneap, who co-produced PRIEST‘s latest album, “Firepower”, began touring with the band four years ago after longtime guitarist Glenn Tipton — who was diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease eight years ago after being stricken by the condition at least half a decade earlier — announced in early 2018 he was going to sit out touring activities in support of the LP. Earlier today, the British heavy metal legends released a statement in which they said that they were planning to return to the road as “an even more powerful, relentless four-piece heavy metal band.” They also thanked Andy f...

For every Cinderella Challenge story to take shape, a force of nature must fall. And on the most recent episode of All Stars Season 2, the odds-on favorites to win the whole shebang were ousted at the last second after an Arena game that would have made anyone’s palms sweat. Brad and Jodi, aka “Brodi,” who spent most of the game way out in first place, proved they weren’t quite untouchable after “Make the Connection,” which challenged partnerships to jump from moving truck to moving truck to collect keys, open boxes and secure a designated idol. Brad made the mistake of ripping the tops off of boxes rather than untying ropes that kept them sealed and, as consequence, he and Jodi were sentenced to The Arena against allies Darrell and Janelle, who were voted in by the day’s winners, Nehemiah...
