Bill Murray Confirms Villain Role in ‘Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania’

It’s been a while since Ghostbusters veteran Bill Murray announced his participation in the upcoming Marvel Studios film Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, but the esteemed actor has now finally confirmed what role he’ll be playing in the MCU. Appearing in a recent episode of The Eli Manning Show, Murray was asked what superpowers he’ll have in the next Ant-Man installment, to which he replied “My power is, I’m a bad guy.” The two went on to discuss co-star Paul Rudd‘s recently-earned title as PEOPLE‘s sexiest man alive in 2021, with the actor saying “we all agree.” Unfortunately, not much else has been revealed at the moment about Murray’s new villain in Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, but we do know that both Rudd and Evangeline Lilly will be reprising their r...

Take a Closer Look at Penguin and The Riddler in Matt Reeves’ ‘The Batman’

Warner Bros. has shared new images of The Batman‘s Penguin and The Riddler ahead of the film’s premiere. The imagery sees Paul Dano’s Edward Nigma/Riddler sporting an olive green theme with a coat that features the villain’s question mark motif and a matching leather mask — the latter of which draws comparisons to the early sketches of the Zodiac Killer. Meanwhile, Colin Farrell is barely recognizable as Oswald Chesterfield Cobblepot/Penguin while he sits in a leather chair and wears his comics-accurate suit. In late December 2021, director Matt Reeves revealed that Robert Pattinson’s Bruce Wayne was inspired by late Nirvana frontman Kurt Cobain. “That’s when it came to me that, rather than make Bruce Wayne the playboy version we’ve seen before, there’s another version who had gone through...

No Way Home earned $1.53 billion USD in the global market and is currently the eight highest-grossing film worldwide, surpassing The Avengers, Furious 7, Frozen II and Avengers: Age of Ultron. In a recent interview, writers Chris McKenna and Erik Sommers shared that they got the idea of th...

Adele Returns to No. 1 In U.K. With ‘Easy On Me’

Adele holds off a spirited challenge from Gayle to scale the U.K. singles chart summit once again. “Easy On Me,” the first track lifted from Adele’s 30 (Columbia) album, zooms 37 places for an eighth non-consecutive week at No. 1. It’s Adele’s longest-running leader in her homeland, besting the five-week run at the top for 2011’s “Someone Like You” (her other leader, 2015’s “Hello,” logged three weeks at No. 1). Coming in close at No. 2 this week is Gayle’s viral Atlantic hit “abcdefu”, which zooms 14-2 on the Official U.K. Singles Chart for a fresh peak. Also scaling new heights is Sam Fender, whose “Seventeen Going Under” (Polydor) blasts 30-3. It’s a first U.K. Singles Chart Top 5 appearance for this one-time BRITS Critics’ Choice Award winner, though he does two No. 1 albums to his nam...

‘West Side Story’ Among Big Winners as 2022 Golden Globes Announced at Private Ceremony

The Power of the Dog, West Side Story and Succession were among the winners of the 79th Golden Globe Awards that were announced on Sunday night (Jan. 9) via social media and not, as in years past, as part of a star-studded, boozy, nationally televised gala. This, as much as anything, illustrates the stunning fall from grace experienced over the past year by the organization behind the Globes, the Hollywood Foreign Press Association. The group has been on the outs with many in Hollywood since last February, when a series of Los Angeles Times pieces revealed that the collection of L.A.-based journalists for foreign outlets included zero Black members and had engaged in unethical conduct and suspect financial practices. DEADLAND RITUAL Feat. GEEZER BUTLER, MATT SORUM, STEVE STEVENS: Why Supergroup Called It Quits

During an appearance on SiriusXM‘s “Trunk Nation With Eddie Trunk”, Steve Stevens (BILLY IDOL, VINCE NEIL) spoke about the status of DEADLAND RITUAL, the supergroup he started a few years ago with bassist Geezer Butler (BLACK SABBATH), drummer Matt Sorum (GUNS N’ ROSES, VELVET REVOLVER) and singer Franky Perez (APOCALYPTICA). “I think it’s done, although there was a lot of material that was written that I hope will see the light of day in some form or another,” the guitarist said (as transcribed by BLABBERMOUTH.NET). “I’m still friendly with all those guys.” As for what caused DEADLAND RITUAL to come to and end after only releasing two songs, Stevens said: “It was really difficult. We were about to sign a deal. We went out a...

Ex-DEATH Guitarist JAMES MURPHY On Last Month’s CHUCK SCHULDINER Tribute Concerts: ‘I Didn’t Play Very Well’

On December 11-12, 2021, former DEATH members played two shows commemorating the 20th anniversary of the passing of the band’s mastermind Chuck Schuldiner at Brass Mug in Tampa, Florida. James Murphy (guitar) and Terry Butler (bass) performed DEATH‘s classic third album, “Spiritual Healing” (1990), in its entirety under the LIVING MONSTROSITY banner, while Steve DiGiorgio (bass), Bobby Koelble (guitar) and Kelly Conlon (bass) joined forces as SYMBOLIC to play songs from “Human” (1991), “Individual Thought Patterns” (1993), “Symbolic” (1995) and “The Sound Of Perseverance” (1998). In a new interview with Heavy Culture, Murphy stated about playing the two concerts: “On the nights, I didn’t feel all that incre...

Dominion – SKILLET

RATING: 6.5/10 The basic foundation of SKILLET records is always built upon catchy choruses, straightforward song structures and female vocals (Jen Ledger) that provide a foil to male vocals (John Cooper) in just the right spots. It’s the formula that’s made them a multi-platinum Christian hard rock band. While they stick to that formula on their eleventh record, “Dominion”, there are several elements that make it distinctly different from its predecessors. Most notably, “Dominion” offers an incredibly triumphant, positive tone, whereas earlier releases struck darker ones. Even when the tempo slows and conveys a greater sense of struggle, like the weighty song “Forever or the End”, there is still a guiding sense of hope. “Dominion”...

Drake’s ‘Certified Lover Boy’ Is Only 2021 Rap Album Eligible for Double Platinum Status

Drake is about to reach yet another milestone with his latest Certified Lover Boy album. Last summer, The Boy released his sixth studio album within days of Kanye West‘s DONDA. While both rappers went head to head as the two highest-anticipated albums of the year, Drake’s CLB dominated the charts. This was Drake’s tenth U.S. No. 1 album. For almost two months after the release of CLB, Drake’s album hovered around the No. 1 and No. 2 spot on the Billboard 200 chart after it debuted at the No. 1 spot. Just under a month after its debut, CLB received its RIAA Platinum status. Now, according to Chart Data, Certified Lover Boy has sold over two million total units, making it qualified to hit double platinum by the RIAA. If Drake were to be awarded with this accolade, Certified Lover Boy would b...

2022 Golden Globes: See The Complete Winners List

To say this year’s Golden Globes Awards are a little different would be an understatement. Historically, the show had typically kicked off awards season with a celeb-filled ceremony airing live on NBC from the Beverly Hilton in Los Angeles. But after multiple controversies plagued the Hollywood Foreign Press Association, including an internal lack of diversity and numerous unethical business practices, NBC canceled the 2022 telecast, leaving the Globes without a broadcast home. When the ceremony takes place tonight (January 9), it will be bereft of any celebrity presenters and will not be live-streamed; the winners will be announced online, a tweet from the Golden Globes account revealed on Thursday. Last year’s telecast was marked by moments of commentary on the HFPA’s f...
