Nearly 12 years after its release, Swedish House Mafia is giving their breakout hit “One” a makeover in the new year with the help of Swedish composer Jacob Mühlrad.  Aptly titled “One Symphony,” the recomposition will serve as a symphonic version of their generational dance anthem. Spring Awakening Cancún Cancelled Due to Omicron Concerns, Major Loss From Chicago Festival: Report

While live music made a triumphant return in 2021, the weather and a sudden surge in COVID-19 cases haven’t been kind to LiveOne. The promoter and digital media company have announced that they are canceling the Cancún edition of Spring Awakening just weeks before the event was scheduled to take place.  The Cancún music festival was set to take place from January 13th through 17th. According to Billboard, LiveOne cited the Omicron variant of the coronavirus as a primary contributor to the cancellation as well as a $3 million dollar loss they suffered after Spring Awakening’s flagship festival in Chicago was ultimately canceled due to lightning, which caused an evacuation of the festival grounds. Michael Sweet of openly Christian hard rockers STRYPER has completed the songwriting process for the band’s upcoming album. The follow-up to last year’s “Even The Devil Believes” will once again be recorded at SpiritHouse Recording Studios in Northampton, Massachusetts. DAVID LEE ROTH Shows For New Year’s Eve Weekend In Las Vegas Have Been Canceled

The first two shows of David Lee Roth‘s previously announced Las Vegas residency have been canceled. According to Metal Sludge, one of the musicians in Roth‘s backing band contracted COVID-19, forcing the concerts to be called off. Roth‘s camp has issued the following statement: “Due to unforeseen circumstances related to COVID and out of an abundance of caution for those working and attending the shows, the David Lee Roth performances schedule for Dec. 31, 2021 and Jan. 1, 2022 have been cancelled. And, as you well know, you could tinker with a song forever; change the arrangement, change the lyrics, whatever. But, in that sense we’re close.
