Promised asylum in Lisbon, Portugal, they were attempting to charter a plane to the European city and needed money. “See what we can do,” Berg told Nieto, the streaming giant’s global head of equity and impact. LONDON – New restrictions for nightclubs and music venues in England have been introduced to tackle a sharp rise in cases of the coronavirus omicron variant. Members of Parliament backed Prime Minister Boris Johnson’s controversial ‘Plan B’ measures on Tuesday (Dec. 14), with 369 MPs voting in favor of making COVID-19 vaccine passports a legal requirement to enter clubs and some concert halls, versus 126 against. The rules come into force on Wednesday, meaning that people aged over 18 in England will need to show they’ve either had two doses of the COVID-19 vaccine or proof of a negative test taken in the past 48 hours to enter a number of music venues, including nightclubs and indoor unseated venues with more than 500 people. Proof of vaccine status via an NHS Covid Pass is also needed fo...

In a new interview with Ultimate Classic Rock, Pepper Keenan spoke about DOWN‘s plans to resume touring in 2022. Plans for select shows featuring Keenan, vocalist Philip Anselmo, guitarist Kirk Windstein, drummer Jimmy Bower and bassist Pat Bruders performing DOWN‘s 1995-released, now-classic debut, “NOLA” in its entirety to celebrate its 25th anniversary were sidelined due to the global pandemic. “Everybody’s just trying to come up for air,” Pepper said. “We played Psycho [Las Vegas festival] in Vegas and we played at Fillmore in New Orleans, and they were both slamming shows. We did live streams. It was just so bizarre to be sitting on your ass for a year — literally. We had shit planned all over the fucking place — both [DOWN and CORROSION...

RATING: 8/10 The metal world is roughly divided into two camps: those who think BABYMETAL are a splendid and wildly entertaining force for heavy metal joy, and those who would rather have their limbs sawn off with a rusty Samurai sword than ever hear the Japanese crew’s pop-metal hybrid again. A thunderous encapsulation of the BABYMETAL live experience, captured at Tokyo’s legendary Budokan, “10 Babymetal Budokan” is not aimed at the latter camp. If you haven’t been won over by the exuberant, skewed silliness of the whole enterprise yet — or by the startling brutality and precision of the music itself — then a 70-minute live album is definitely not going to change your mind. But for everybody else, this is a stupidly entertaining reminder that BABYMETAL transc...

The official list of the 2022 Golden Globes nominees has been released. This year’s 79th Annual Golden Globes Awards come at a sensitive time as NBC had decided earlier this year that they will not be airing the ceremonies. The controversy occurred after an exposé of the Globes revealed the lack of diversity in the Hollywood Foreign Press Association. In response to the backlash, the HFPA announced in October that it has its “most diverse” class of new members this year. This year’s nominations were announced by rapper Snoop Dogg. Netflix has once again dominated the list with The Power of the Dog leading with seven film nominees, Don’t Look Up with five, Tick, Tick…BOOM! with three and Squid Game with four. Belfast also has seven nominations while HBO drama series Succession earned the mo...
