Louie Ray ft. Dave East “Today,” Drag-On “Part 40 Freestyle” & More | Daily Visuals 12.1.21

HipHopWired Featured Video Taking a page out of Benny The Butcher’s book for hustlers, Dave East’s been making the rounds recently with the guest features to keep his name buzzing and his pen sharp and today once again popped up when you least expected him. Linking up with Flint, Michigan artist Louie Ray for the visuals to “Today,” Dave East welcomes Louie to the City That Never Sleeps with open arms and a fancy dinner in which Louie seemingly added bacon strips to his glass of water. Bobby Shmurda was there too so it might’ve been a prison acquired meal tip or something. Just sayin.’ Drag-On meanwhile continues to show and prove that he’s still got that fire and in his clip to “Part 40” drops all the bars to show and prove he’s still got heat while standing outside. Check out the rest of...

Kanye West and Drake’s “Free Larry Hoover” Concert Tickets Are Selling For $7000

HipHopWired Featured Video Source: Mikey Williams/Top Rank Inc / Getty It’s no doubt that Drake and Kanye West‘s “Free Larry Hoover” concert is one of this year’s most anticipated events, but the recent change in the price of tickets for the event has fans scratching their heads and clutching their wallets. According to reports, resale ticket prices for the concert set to occur at the Los Angeles Forum on December 9th have reached the healthy price tag of more than $7500 on Ticketmaster. The increase in price is said to be a result of ticket prices being gouged by resellers after tickets for the once-in-a-lifetime event were made available to fans initially costing around $200 to $500 USD. Of course, fans took to Twitter to express their disbelief of the updated price with some calling out...

Holly Humberstone just got off a flight from Copenhagen, where she had just performed her first show in Denmark. Onstage, the 21-year-old singer-songwriter wears fishnet gloves and platform boots. On Zoom, she’s in a fleece adorned with puppies. Despite coming off of a long flight and sitting in gridlock traffic, she appears refreshed and cheerful, with her hair neatly pulled back and complexion free of make-up.  Over the last year, Humberstone has amassed over 150 million streams, performed on various late-night shows, earned recognition as an up-and-coming artist by BBC, Vevo, YouTube, and Apple Music, and taken on headlining shows around the world. Her sophomore EP, The Walls Are Way Too Thin, was released on November 12. She writes her own songs and performs on stage with no accom...

Understanding Jason Boland’s ‘Borderline Cosmic’ Sci-Fi Country Magnum Opus

Like a transmission from a celestial CB radio, Jason Boland’s The Light Saw Me crackles to life with a garble of white noise that slows to a fiddle crawl and simmers there, hovering in the interstitial space between psychedelic country and barroom honky-tonk — and that’s just the first minute. On the record’s freewheeling prelude, “Terrifying Nature,” Boland’s narrator engages with the ageless, persistent question: What if we’re not alone in the universe? A query that sets off the unlikely trajectory of a sci-fi country concept album. As the far-fetched tale begins to unfold, what might seem like a strange juxtaposition to most folks, instead, amounts to a mid-career magnum opus for the Oklahoma songwriter and his band, The Stragglers. The gist: An 1890s cowboy is abducted by aliens and en...

The record’s 25th anniversary edition was released on October 29 this year, via Craft Recordings. “‘Electrolite,’ I didn’t want to put it on the album, I didn’t think it was good enough,” frontman Michael Stipe said in NAIHF‘s liner notes. “I thought it was simplistic and obvious, and I didn’t see the beauty or the poetry in it. And of course later I realized what an astonishing song it is. But it took me a while to come around to that.” The band previously ...

Sebastian Yatra Nabs 13th Top 10 on Latin Pop Airplay Chart With ‘Tacones Rojos’

Sebastian Yatra adds a new top 10 to his Latin Pop Airplay chart career board as “Tacones Rojos” climbs 11-6 on the Dec. 4-dated ranking. The single hits the top tier in its third week. “The song is having a unique life cycle compared to my other releases,” Yatra tells Billboard. “It’s growing slow and steady, and the music is speaking for itself. It’s a different style from what’s going on in the music scene, so I knew that it would take some time, but good songs always get to the heart.” “’Tacones Rojos’ is not reggaeton,” Yatra adds. “It’s a pop song, an up-tempo party track and very happy.” With the move, Yatra collects his 13th top 10 among a group of 26 entries, six of which have reached No. 1. His most recent is “Pareja del Año,” with Myke Towers, (Aug. 14-dated tally) whi...
