NBA YoungBoy Wants To Quit Making Music

YoungBoy Never Broke Again could be saying goodbye to music. In a recent Clubhouse conversation with DJ Akademiks, the Louisiana rapper revealed that he has not felt the same way about music for a while now. “I lost love for music and it brings too many problems,” NBA YoungBoy admitted. “I been waiting to stop making music for about one and a half years.” The revelation arrives shortly after all the music videos on his YouTube channel — the platform where he first gained a loyal following — mysteriously disappeared. The issue has not been addressed so far and it is unclear whether it was the artist’s doing or YouTube’s. NBA YoungBoy, however, revealed that his plans to hang his career up will have to wait as he is dropping new music on December 3. “Friday. I’m gonna drop Friday. I’m gonna ...

Fif took to Instagram to share the clip of Young Dolph’s verse on Gucci Mane‘s 2017 cut “Stunting Ain’t Nuthin,” which also featured Slim Jxmmi and was produced by Mike WiLL Made-It and Myles Harris. “I had this in the Vault,” he wrote in the caption. “R.I.P Young Dolph World Premier,” he added, although he did not reveal if the visual was going to see a release. The music video director Eif Rivera also commented, “Sheesh the vault. 5 years ago.” Young Dolph’s family recently released a statement regarding his death: “There are no words that exist, that sufficiently express the pain we are feeling as a family. Losing Adolph, Dolph, Man-Man, chang...

Machine Gun Kelly’s New UN/DN LAQR Nail Polish Brand Challenges Beauty Norms

Colson Baker, known by his stage name Machine Gun Kelly, has long curated his public image through daring fashion choices, statement-making piercings, an impressive number of tattoos and, most recently, through his eclectic nail art. In the past year alone, the pop-punk vocalist has sported a matte neon space manicure to the American Music Awards, an abstract chrome and black design at New York’s Rockin’ Eve, stripes of black, yellow and white while performing on Saturday Night Live and a hand covered in evil eyes, among several other looks. Now, the multi-hyphenate is tapping into his entrepreneurial skillset with the launch of his own genderless nail polish line, dubbed UN/DN LAQR (which reads like a simplified version of the words “undone” and “lacquer”), to claim his stake in the ...

Nicolas Cage To Star as Dracula in Universal’s Upcoming ‘Renfield’ Movie

Nicolas Cage is slated to play Dracula in Universal Pictures‘ upcoming monster film, Renfield, which centers on the infamous vampire’s fabled henchman. Directed by Chris McKay — the brain behind Amazon‘s The Tomorrow War and The Lego Batman Movie — Renfield will also star Nicholas Hoult as the titular character, which first originated in Bram Stoker’s 1897 novel Dracula. The origin-story film is expected to take place in the present day, and it is unclear how much of the plot will align with the aforementioned source material. In Stoker’s thriller, Renfield was a patient in an asylum, where he was thought to be suffering from delusions that made him eat living creatures in search of immotality. It’s later revealed, however, that the character is controlled by Count Dracula. ...

Kathy Griffin Reveals She’s Cancer-Free After Having “Half of My Left Lung Removed”

Back in August, Kathy Griffin broke the news to fans that she had been diagnosed with stage one lung cancer, and that she’d be undergoing surgery. But a few months later, things are looking up for the comedian, who stopped by Jimmy Kimmel Live! to update viewers that she’s now cancer-free. First, an energetic Griffin felt obligated to explain her voice, which jumped from her usual register to a breathy, raspy tone that she could only describe as “Minnie Mouse meets Marilyn Monroe.” “You’re not going to believe this,” Griffin began. “I’ve never smoked but I got lung cancer. And in August, I had half of my left lung removed. I’m not even kidding… It will heal, but I’m sort of enjoying it. I’m like, a two good octaves higher, I think. It’s higher than Mariah Carey — I know that.” Adverti...

Even After 15 Seasons, It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia Keeps Getting Better

The Pitch: Think back to what you were doing in the year 2005. It’s pretty unlikely that your life then was the same as it is now — different friends, different pop culture, different kinds of work keeping you busy. Maybe your then-toddler is now getting ready for college, or maybe you were yourself still basically a child. But since 2005, one thing remains constant: The gang behind It’s Always Sunny In Philadelphia have continued to make their FXX show, and do it better than so many of the comedies out there today. The secret behind this pretty wild degree of success can be very easily attributed to the fact that the series has very deliberately, especially in the last five or so years, matured to a degree. Not that the gang running a crappy Philly bar has grown up — though several of the...

Dave Grohl Covers Van Halen’s “Jump” with Greg Kurstin on Night Four of Hanukkah: Watch

David Eric Grohl is paying tribute to David Lee Roth on night four of Hanukkah. As the Foo Fighters frontman and producer Greg Kurston continue their Hanukkah covers song series, today they’re jumping into the wonderful world of Van Halen. “Quite possibly the loudest and proudest of hard rocking Jews, @DavidLeeRoth has gone on record crediting his Bar Mitzvah preparation as his earliest vocal training,” write Grohl and Kurtin. “He became a rockstar the day he became a man: Diamond Dreidel DLR and @VanHalen …with ‘Jump.’” Foo Fighters have covered Van Halen’s “Jump” live on many occasions over the years, but today’s release boasts Kurstin on synth and Grohl on drums and vocals. The accompanying video mixes performance footage with scenes of the two men jumping, crawling, and hamming i...

Multiple HIV/AIDS Organizations Say DaBaby Has Ghosted Them Since Initial Meetings

Last summer, DaBaby made the interesting choice of hyping up the crowd at Rolling Loud Miami by spewing ignorant nonsense about gay people, women, and people with autoimmune disorders. After half-hearted apologies and defensive music videos got him dropped from several music festivals, the rapper met with a series of HIV/AIDS organizations to clean up his act and assure audiences he was willing to do better. Now, however, several of those organizations are saying DaBaby has not contacted them since their August meeting, nor donated any money to their causes. “Though we felt the conversation was extremely powerful a couple months ago, we haven’t heard anything back as an organization since our conversation,” Ian L. Haddock, founder and executive director of The Normal Anomaly Initiativ...

64% of Concert Attendees Don’t Wear Ear Protection, Poll Finds

According to a recent EDM.com poll, 64% of live event attendees don’t wear ear protection at live shows. Ear protection during live events may be a bit of a burden since you won’t hear the sound as it’s truly intended.
