Once upon a time, over a decade ago, guitarist Neil Bednisand singer Melanie St-Pierre met in their hometown of Sudbury, Ontario. Years went by and they wanted to start a band, so they put out an ad, and formed Casper Skulls in 2015. Melanie explains how they got their name: “The name is a reference from Richard Hell’s book I Dreamed I Was A Very Clean Tramp, in which Tom Verlaine and Richard Hell would sign their poems Caspar Skull.” After moving to Toronto, they drew inspiration from the city’s diverse musical landscape. “Being around people doing so many different things inevitably influences the music we all make,” Melanie says. Eddie Vedder Announces 2022 Tour with New Band The Earthlings

Eddie Vedder has mapped out a 2022 US tour in support of his new solo album, Earthling, and he’s put together an all-star backing band to join him on the road. As first debuted at Vedder’s Ohana Fest earlier this fall, The Earthlings features drummer Chad Smith (of Red Hot Chili Peppers), guitarist/keyboardist Josh Klinghoffer (of Pearl Jam), bassist Chris Chaney (of Jane’s Addiction), guitarist/vocalist Glen Hansard (of The Swell Season), and producer/guitarist Andrew Watt. Eddie Vedder and his new all-star band, the Earthlings, will be hitting the road for a string of dates. Kicking off with a pair of dates at New York City’s Beacon Theater on February 3, the band will play only a handful of cities before returning to Seattle a few weeks later. On February 11, Vedder will release his first solo album since 2011’s Ukulele Songs.
