KING’S X guitarist Ty Tabor spoke to TrickyKid TV about the progress of the recording sessions for the band’s follow-up to 2008’s “XV” album. He said: “We’re finished, we’re done. And we’re already working on artwork. We already turned in all the credits and all that stuff. So it’s a done deal.” Asked if there’s a title for the record, Tabor said: “There is, but I’m not gonna say it yet, because before there is a final, final art on something, everything is subject to change.” Last month, KING’S X frontman Doug Pinnick told Talking Metal that the band’s new LP had already been mastered. “It’s at the record company, and they’re starting the campaign,” he said. “...

Thirty Challenge seasons and nearly 20 years ago, the most emblematic MTV underdog of all time, Sarah Greyson, won The Gauntlet after surviving her team’s season-long mission to oust her. She notched five elimination-round wins en route to her victory in Season 7, including two against men, and by the time she collected her check, she’d unwittingly made history. Two decades later, Sarah’s record remains unbeaten and matched only once, but the standout rookie of Season 37, a blue-haired Romanian pop star named Emy, is in a position to finally amend the record books. But with the Spies, Lies and Allies finale likely around the corner, will Emy have time to collect Lair victories five and six to officially cement her standing as one of the greatest players ever, or will Sarah continue to reig...
If time heals all wounds, consider Tina and Jodi of The Challenge conscientious clock objectors. The two powerhouses, who first met on Inferno II, got off on the wrong foot and — as of the most recent episode of All Stars — they’ve committed to staying that way…17 years later. But now that they’ve each claimed victory in one of the first two missions and have each vowed to oust the other from the game, the question is: Who can stand the heat, and who’ll have to get the hell out of the kitchen? After Derek and Leah’s elimination from the game, players learned they’d have to test their wits and endurance, alike, in the second All Stars mission, “Around the Block.” In two teams, the cast would have to rush to collect King Kong-sized puzzle pieces — some scattered in the woods and some floatin...
The Real World: Los Angeles was not Season 1 of the iconic MTV series, but the 1993 SoCal edition is well-known for changing reality TV forever. Beth Anthony, Beth Stolarczyk, David Edwards, Glen Naessens, Irene Berrera-Kearns, Jon Brennan and Tami Roman are small screen pioneers in their own right — and they are having a homecoming at the same iconic Venice beach house years after they lived together in their teens and twenties. Yes, they are “all grown up” — and during the premiere installment of the Paramount+ program, they began revisiting the historic experiences that shaped their youth when they were “being real” in the ’90s. The first stop on this journey: sitting together to watch the unforgettable “blanket incident,” which led ...
Over the weekend, Neil Young announced the existence of a lost record from his vaults, 1987’s Summer Songs. The tracks are set to be included on his next archival volume. Though, there’s a chance they may be released before then. “We are not sure of the exact original dates of these recordings yet,” Young wrote in a post on his website. “They were all given the same date in the NYA Vault’s records, but they all have a very similar unique sound. To give you an idea of place and time, Farm Aid and the Bridge School concerts had just begun their long runs.” The to-be-released collection follows Young’s January detailing of another lost record, his 1982 Johnny’s Island. The unearthed collection includes “The Last Of His Kind,” “For The Love Of Man,” “American Dream,” “Name Of Love,” “Some...
Over the weekend, heavy snowfall throughout the U.K. left tens of thousands of homes without electricity and killed at least two people. But those at the Tan Hill Inn were able to have some moments of levity, despite being trapped inside the bar and pub for three days. The Yorkshire establishment joked that they were trapped by a “Wonderwall” of snow, since patrons-turned-inmates had come to see the Oasis cover band, Noasis, NBC News reported. The trapped fans slept on couches and the floor, after the unprecedented loads of snowfall that was predicted to be light. “Our guests have been absolutely amazing,” Nicola Townsend, the pub’s manager, told Sky News. “They’ve been really patient and really understanding.” Facebook/The Tan Hill Inn Just as uniting as concerts themselves, “Everyon...
Build a better mousetrap and the world will beat a path to your door. But that turned into a bit of a problem when, at age 16, Colorado-based guitarist/vocalist Demi Demitro came up with the novel concept of backing herself with — not one — but two drummers in a bluesy garage trio she dubbed The Velveteers. It’s taken the band six years to finally release its reverb-soaked debut, Nightmare Daydream, on Easy Eye Sound, the label of Grammy-winning Black Keys anchor Dan Auerbach. It was produced (and partially co-written) by Auerbach in his Nashville studio, as well. But not all mousetrap enthusiasts had such honorable intentions. Thinking about the nefarious, unforgiving music business, Demitro sighs, wondering how she managed to last this long. “It’s just taken a lot of hard work and determ...
