Ahead of the Bob Dylan Center’s grand opening on May 10, the center’s archivists announced their recent acquisition of various early recordings and other vintage Dylan memorabilia. All of the recent findings are to be displayed at the BDC in Tulsa, Oklahoma. The 41-year-old had suffered from long-term health issues leading up to his death. A video of NIGHTWISH‘s Laiho tribute can be seen below. Earlier this year, NIGHTWISH keyboardist and main songwriter Tuomas Holopainen spoke to U.K.’s Metal Hammer magazine about his friendship with Laiho. DEATH ANGEL guitarist Ted Aguilar spoke to the “Loaded Radio” podcast about the progress of the songwriting sessions for the follow-up to the Grammy-nominated “Humanicide” album. He said (as transcribed by BLABBERMOUTH.NET): “There is plans [to record a new LP]. Right now, there’s just rumblings and just ideas floating around. We haven’t really sat down and pieced them together. But there’s plans. I mean, who knows? We could have an album ready in two months or we may not. It all depends. It’s kind of hard to predict the future, because of the landscape of the world right now. I know our [North American] tour with TESTAMENT and EXODUS got pushed back to April-May [of 2022]. So that gives us time to do some writing. And who knows? Maybe ...

The topic of artists striving to regain ownership of their music—after signing it to a label—has been pushed to the forefront in recent years. With the barrier to entry to promote one’s music at an all-time low, artists are more comfortable than ever with the previously daunting prospect of going independent and taking this responsibility into their own hands. Alan Walker is the 115th most-streamed artist in the world on Spotify at the time of writing. However, six years ago when he signed a trio of songs to NoCopyrightSounds (NCS) this was hardly the case. NCS is currently one of the largest digital music labels on YouTube with over 31 million subscribers. The platform has been instrumental in breaking the careers of unheralded artists over the years, including Walker. With suc...
UNTOLD Festival was the only large scale European festival to take place in 2021, and the Romania-based event isn’t wasting time in planning an even bigger and better edition in 2022. This year’s UNTOLD welcomed back a formidable lineup of over 200 DJs, many of whom are household names such as David Guetta, Martin Garrix, DJ Snake, Steve Aoki, and Afrojack. The fantasy-themed fest unified fans from over 100 different countries and drew in a staggering 265,000 fans at a time when large-scale events were especially scarce. UNTOLD Festival, one of the largest festivals in the EU, locks in early August dates for 2022 edition. Now UNTOLD isn’t letting that momentum go to waste, and have already committed to 2022 dates early next August. Dubbed “Untold Chapter...
