Summer Walker is opening this week’s Billboard 200 at No. 1 as Still Over It marks first ever chart-topper. The record garnered a total of 166,000 equivalent album units including 153,000 in streaming equivalent album units (201.1 million on-demand streams of the tracks), 12,000 in album sales and 1,000 in track equivalent album units. In addition to being Walker’s first No. 1 record, Still Over It marks the first No. 1 R&B album by a woman since Solange’s A Seat at the Table in 2016, and earns the biggest week for both an R&B album this year and by a woman since Beyoncé’s Lemonade. It also holds the new record for the largest streaming week ever for an R&B album recorded by a woman, earns the second-biggest streaming week for an R&B album in history and is the fourth-bigge...
Attendees of Travis Scott‘s 2021 Astroworld Festival could be waiving their right to sue the organizers if they accept refunds. West Coast Trial Lawyers president and co-founder Neama Rahmani explained to Insider that attendees who take ScoreMore’s offer of a refund can possibly sign the right away because they will get something of value in return. “Courts generally uphold those types of waivers,” Rahmani shared. “The classic case is arbitration agreements. Everyone kind of scrolls through. No one reads the fine print, and guess what, you’ve waived your right to a jury trial, waived your right to file a lawsuit, to demand arbitration.” ScoreMore confirmed that they, along with Live Nation and Scott’s Astroworld team, will be offering full refunds to those who purchased tickets, but did no...

A tenth person has died from injuries suffered at last weekend’s Astroworld Festival. Nine-year-old Ezra Blount passed away Sunday, according to a statement released by his family’s attorney. “The Blount family tonight is grieving the incomprehensible loss of their precious young son,” the Blount family attorney Ben Crump said in a statement. “This should not have been the outcome of taking their son to a concert, what should have been a joyful celebration. Ezra’s death is absolutely heartbreaking. We are committed to seeking answers and justice for the Blount family. But tonight we stand in solidarity with the family, in grief, and in prayer.” Blount was sitting on his father’s shoulders during Travis Scott’s headlining set on Friday night when the two suddenly found themselves trapped in...
British rock band MAGNUM will release its new studio album, “The Monster Roars”, on January 14, 2022 via SPV/Steamhammer. A couple of singles will precede the full-length effort: “I Won’t Let You Down”, a typically deep melodic midtempo song featuring a memorable chorus with stylish string accompaniment for added luster, which has just arrived and can be streamed below, followed five weeks later, on December 17, by a second pre-release track, “No Steppin’ Stones”, also including a lyric video. “The Monster Roars” features twelve new songs in total from guitarist Tony Clarkin, singer Bob Catley and their comrades in arms Rick Benton (keyboards), Dennis Ward (bass) and Lee Morris (drums), with a few little surprises thrown in. In a new interview with Meltdown of Detroit’s WRIF radio station, SEPULTURA frontman Derrick Green, who resides in Los Angeles, spoke about how the coronavirus pandemic is continuing to affect everyday life. He said (as transcribed by BLABBERMOUTH.NET): “It’s slowly getting there. There’s definitely those ups and downs. After Fourth of July, people were, like, ‘Oh, yeah, we’re out of the woods,’ and then two weeks after Fourth of July, half the people I knew had COVID and were really screwed up. The delta variant really wiped a lot of people I know — it really wrecked them. Some of the people I know still can’t smell, can’t taste, have a lot of lung problems still. And these are healthy people. So this was kind of terrifying. “A l...
DISTURBED frontman David Draiman will join Nita Strauss, the guitar shredder for the ALICE COOPER band, on stage this coming Thursday, November 18 at the Whisky A Go Go in West Hollywood, California to perform their collaborative song “Dead Inside”. Released last month, “Dead Inside” is Nita‘s first new music since the release of her critically acclaimed debut solo album “Controlled Chaos” in 2018. It kicks off with Nita‘s inimitably intricate lead guitar work and, as the intro builds, begins to snake its way around the ground-shaking, headbanging lead riff as Josh Villalta‘s technical and bombastic drums kick in. Then comes the unmistakable vocal prowess of Draiman as he delivers his unique signature brand of enormously catchy vocal me...
Consiracy promoter and right-wing media personality Alex Jones has blasted Gene Simmons for calling unvaccinated people the “enemy.” In an appearance on Talkshoplive‘s Rock ‘N’ Roll channel last week, the KISS bassist and vocalist said that many people were turned away from the band’s recently completed Kiss Kruise because they were not vaccinated. All guests on the cruise, which was on a Norwegian Cruise Line boat, were required to be vaccinated against COVID-19. “If you’re willing to walk among us unvaccinated, you are an enemy,” the 72-year-old Simmons said on November 10. “This whole idea, this delusional, evil idea that you get to do whatever you want and the rest of the world be damned, is really terrible,” he added. &...

In total, Voyage marks ABBA’s 14th charting album on the Billboard 200 and seventh to reach the top 40. (Not counted among those are the two Mamma Mia! film soundtracks, which consist of covers of ABBA tunes by their respective film’s actors. Both albums found great success, with the first Mamma Mia! soundtrack hitting No. 1 in 2008 and the sequel film’s Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again! soundtrack reaching No. 3 in 2018.) Voyage starts with 82,000 equivalent album units earned in the U.S. in the week ending Nov. 11, according to MRC Data. Of that sum, album sales comprise 78,000 (making it the top-selling album of the week and the largest sales week for an album by a group in 2021); SEA units comprise 4,000 (equaling 4.9 million on-demand streams of the set’s songs), and TEA units co...
Boston-area radio station Country 102.5 tweeted an audio clip of Swift speaking about “I Bet You Think About Me” — and what her intentions were when writing it back in June 2011 with Lori McKenna. “This is a song I wrote with Lori McKenna, who’s one of my favorite sing-songwriters ever. I’d always wanted to work with her … I wrote this with her at her house when I was playing Foxboro [Gillette Stadium] on the Speak Now Tour,” Swift said in the clip, setting the scene. “We wanted this song to be like a comedic, tongue-in-cheek, funny, not caring what anyone thinks about you sort of breakup song because there are a lot of different types of heartbreak songs on Red — some of them are very sincere, some of them very stoic and heartbre...
