After delivering first looks a few months back, Netflix has now offered side-by-sides of Cowboy Bebop. The comparisons serve to highlight how the upcoming live-action adaptation draws from the beloved original anime series. The first comparison focuses on a scene from the anime’s ninth episode, “Jamming With Edward,” in which the Bebop is seen landing on Earth. The live-action version remains faithful to the setup seen in the anime, though the colors of the converted interplanetary fishing trawler owned and captained by Jet Black hitting the water are toned down. The difference in tones is also seen in the scene comparison for the battle between Spike Spiegel and antagonist Vicious from Episode 5, “Ballad of Fallen Angels.” Check out the side-by-sides of Cowboy Bebop below and look for the...

Swift crafted a perfect bridge for the rap parody like only she can. Hopefully it’s not too late for Taylor Swift to tack a 31st track onto Red (Taylor’s Version), because she just debuted her latest smash hit on Saturday Night Live: “Three Sad Virgins.” Before taking the stage as the night’s musical guest, Swift joined Pete Davidson for a music video roasting the Please Don’t Destroy comedy trio of Ben Marshall, John Higgins and Martin Herlihy. It all started on a nice note, with Davidson pitching a music video to the guys about how they were all “best friends,” but it took a cruel turn when Davidson declared in the rap parody’s chorus: “All my friends are cool and famous — except these three sad virgins.” T...
The cold open poked fun at Big Bird’s (Andrew Dismukes) reaction to the COVID-19 vaccine. “My feathers fell out, my nuts got huge,” he said. It also made jokes about Borax being used to “cleanse you” from COVID-19, which Bryant’s Cruz used as a segue to introduce “medical expert” Joe Rogan, played by Pete Davidson. “Here’s some Zinc, ayahuasca and horse medicine,” Davidson’s Rogan said. Bryant’s Cruz then went on to explain “CRT,” which is supposed to mean critical race theory, but actually means “caucasian rights trampled,” he said. To discuss it, Bryant invited “Proud Boys” Bert and Ernie, who are engaged, though Bryant’s Cruz said their respective girlfriends were very happy with them. And of course, it wouldn’t be a Sesame Street parody without Oscar the Grouch, but this time he was Os...

During an appearance on Rock Dance Theatre TV‘s November 11 YouTube livestream, former MEGADETH bassist David Ellefson discussed how he chooses which projects to get involved with when the opportunities are presented to him. He said (as transcribed by BLABBERMOUTH.NET): “Every time I made a music thing about money, there was never enough money and I certainly never liked the music. [Laughs] If you enjoy the music, if you enjoy the creative process, maybe there’s not a lot of money in it, but I really don’t care ’cause I’m really digging the hang. So I’ve learned… The bills somehow have always been paid. And it’s just say yes, suit up, show up, get in a room, bring your bass, be in tune, be on time, look your best, play your best, be your best...

This week in her quest for world domination, Taylor Swift released her long-anticipated re-recording of Red, the 2012 album that helped cement her transition from country-pop singer-songwriter to complete pop superstar. Over the weekend, she took to Saturday Night Live to perform the 10-minute version of the fan favorite song “All Too Well.” “All Too Well” immediately became known upon Red’s release as some of the best of Swift’s storytelling. Its tale of heartbreak — written in the aftermath of her breakup with Jake Gyllenhaal — is rife with imagery of romantic trips upstate and “casually cruel” phone calls once the romance burned out. Written on the fly as a sort of soundcheck rant, the track’s original 10-minute minute version has been spoken of in hushed, reverent tones in fan cir...
