Northern Ireland Health Minister Robin Swann is suing Northern Irish songwriter Van Morrison for defamation over his “bizarre and irresponsible” COVID-19 criticisms, the Associated Press reports. Morrison has been ruining his legacy chafing at pandemic restrictions ever since they began, referring to socially-distanced concerts as “pseudo-science” and even releasing an anti-lockdown song series. He publicly criticized Swann on at least three occasions, calling him “a fraud” and “very dangerous.” Swann first fought back in an op-ed in Rolling Stone, writing that Morrison’s “words will give great comfort to the conspiracy theorists – the tin foil hat brigade who crusade against masks and vaccines.” Advertisement Related Video Now, he’s bringing the bat...
Ahead of Travis Scott‘s Astroworld performance on Friday night, Houston Police Chief Troy Finner met with the rapper to express his concerns over the safety of the event. “I met with Travis Scott and his head of security for a few moments last Friday prior to the main event,” Chief Finner said in a statement released on Monday. “I expressed my concerns regarding public safety and that in my 31 years of law enforcement experience I have never seen a time with more challenges facing citizens of all ages and social tension throughout the nation.” “I asked Travis Scott and his team to work with HPD for all events over the weekend and to be mindful of his team’s social media messaging on any unscheduled events,” Chief Finner added. “The meeting was brief and respectful, and a chance for me to s...
Vin Diesel recently took to Instagram to implore Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson to squash their differences and return to the forthcoming Fast and Furious 10. In their last Fast and Furious film, Diesel and The Rock had a feud on set, which led to both stars’ public tension even after the release of the movie. When The Rock went on to create a spinoff of the film with Jason Statham, revealing that he had further ideas for a Hobbs & Shaw sequel, it sent fans speculating that the feud is not yet over. However, it seems that Diesel now wants The Rock to reprise his role as Hobbs for the tenth installment of the franchise. In an Instagram post Diesel wrote, “My little brother Dwayne…the time has come. The world awaits the finale of Fast 10.” He adds that he hopes The Rock will consider returnin...

When Quavo first burst onto the scene in 2013 with the hit song “Versace,” alongside his Migos family members, Offset and Takeoff, the budding stars couldn’t have predicted the non-stop momentum that would carry them to the present day. Almost seven years later, and the energy that surrounds the rapper — who, at this point, barely needs an introduction to anybody relatively attuned to pop culture — is still prevalent. That’s the thing with forward motion: once it starts, it’s incredibly hard to control. That is, unless, your name is Quavious Keyate Marshall and you’re able to harness this movement as a catalyst for creating a cultural force. Much like the all-new adidas Z.N.E. 01 ANC headphones, for which Quavo is both a fan and an ambassador, the multi-platinum recording artist has found ...
RATING: 8/10 EAGLES OF DEATH METAL‘s backstory is littered with anecdotes. Some are unexpected, like the fact that frontman Jesse Hughes was once an activist involved with Sonny Bono‘s 1992 Senate campaign. Unfortunately, though, one page from the act’s history is utterly tragic. On the Paris date of their 2015 tour, terrorists claimed the lives of 89 people, including show-goers as well as the band’s own merchandise manager, in a senseless attack. But, thanks to the likes of EAGLES OF DEATH METAL, rock and freedom can’t be held down. The rock ‘n’ roll heathens now return with their Christmas themed EP, “Eagles of Death Metal Presents A Boots Electric Christmas”, and Paris is, in fact, on the band’s itinerary for their early 2022 ...
Founding TYKETTO guitarist Brooke St. James “came very close to death” during his recent battle with COVID-19, the disease caused by the novel coronavirus. St. James, who played on TYKETTO‘s first four albums before exiting the group in 2014, opened up about his experience with the respiratory disease while appealing to his fans and friends on GoFundMe for help with costs associated with medical expenses and lost income. Brooke wrote in part: “In mid late September 2021 my now 17 year old daughter returned home from school ill. Within a few days most everyone in my home was sick. The kids tested positive first, then my wife. Ok, no need to panic.. from what we all knew at that point, we, as relatively healthy individuals should be fine. The kids bounced back immedia...
Fan-filmed video footage of STONE TEMPLE PILOTS‘ November 7 performance at Penn’s Peak in Jim Thorpe, Pennsylvania can be seen below. STONE TEMPLE PILOTS features three original members — guitarist Dean DeLeo, bassist Robert DeLeo and drummer Eric Kretz. Singer Jeff Gutt, a 45-year-old Michigan native who spent time in the early-2000s nu-metal act DRY CELL, among other bands, and was a contestant on “The X Factor”, joined STONE TEMPLE PILOTS after beating out roughly 15,000 hopefuls during an extended search that began more than a year earlier. Original STONE TEMPLE PILOTS singer Scott Weiland, who reunited with the group in 2010 after an eight-year hiatus but was dismissed in 2013, died in December 2015 of a drug overdose. Chester Bennington, who joined STP in earl...
Chris Holmes says that W.A.S.P. became all about frontman Blackie Lawless in the years after the release of the band’s classic debut album. Holmes joined W.A.S.P. in 1982 and remained with the group until 1990. In 1996, the guitarist returned to W.A.S.P. and stayed with the band until 2001. Chris has not played with W.A.S.P. since. Holmes discussed his tenure with W.A.S.P. in a brand new interview with TotalRock Radio. He said (as transcribed by BLABBERMOUTH.NET): “Blackie, while I was in the band, made some really bad decisions — really bad decisions — that killed the band. “I’ve known him since I was 18, 17 — when he supposedly got done playing with the [NEW YORK] DOLLS or whatever; I knew him them. And not in my farthest dream could I think in the first album tha...
Two days after the Astroworld tragedy that left eight dead, Travis Scott said that he will cover the funeral expenses for the victims. Scott is also teaming with BetterHelp through his Cactus Jack Foundation to offer counseling for a month to those affected by the tragedy. Earlier on Monday, Scott dropped off the Day N Vegas lineup and will refund all attendees of Astroworld. People close to Scott said he is “too distraught to play” the festival. On Friday, eight people died and hundreds were injured at the Houston festival that took place at NRG Field. As of now, there are 14 reported lawsuits, one of which stated the tragedy was “predictable and preventable” that were filed in the days since the event. The victims were aged between 14 and 27. Scott himself has issued two statements follo...
