On the off-chance that you live in either Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, or Qatar, don’t go trying to see Eternals in theaters. Marvel’s latest blockbuster has been pulled from the big screen in those countries, according to The Hollywood Reporter. The apparent ban is believed to have been made over the film’s inclusion of a same-sex couple and the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s first openly gay superhero. News of the ban emerged after Eternals was quietly removed from various theater websites in each of the aforementioned countries before its intended release on November 11th. (It hits American theaters tomorrow, November 5th.) THR reports that Disney was not willing to acquiesce to “a series of edit requests” made by local censors, resulting in it being pulled from those countrie...
TNGHT have returned with their new single “TUMS,” as well as its accompanying music video. Stream the clip below. Arriving via Warp Records/LuckyMe, the visual for the largely instrumental EDM track features dozens of creepy male faces wearing off-putting, oversized grins as they distort, grow, and shapeshift into one another over a wobbling, minimalist beat and laugh track. Taking cues from Instagram, the Dan Streit-directed clip lampoons their identities by tagging a photo of 50 Cent and Al Pacino on the red carpet of 2008’s Righteous Kill, a stock image of two unnamed doctors, and more with their own social handles. “The curse is over it has finished,” reads the video description. One of Britain’s best rock exports are back: today (November 4th), Foals have released their new single, “Wake Me Up.” It’s their first release since the second part of their ambitious 2019 double album Everything Not Saved Will Be Lost Part 2, and also their first since the departure of Edwin Congreave, the band’s longtime keyboardist. “Wake Me Up,” is a fitting title, however, since it was written in a cold, bleak, lockdown winter in the UK. “We wanted to create a contrast between the outside world and the music that we’re writing inside this small room,” says frontman and guitarist Yannis Philippakis about their writing process. “We couldn’t help but reimagine ourselves on stage and how euphoric it will be once it returns.” Advertisement Indeed, it’s the band’s energetic and cathartic l...
Adrian Smith of Iron Maiden and veteran singer-guitarist Richie Kotzen have announced the Better Days EP as part of their ongoing Smith-Kotzen collaborative project. The duo shared the title track from the four-song release ahead of its release date on November 26th. Straying from Smith’s metal roots in Iron Maiden, the song again sees the accomplished guitarists embracing their love of groove-based blues rock. From the sound of it, the collaboration has come naturally for Smith and Kotzen, whose overlap in musical taste made it a seamless and productive partnership. Better Days will mark their second release of 2021, following March’s self-titled debut. HALESTORM frontwoman Lzzy Hale talked to Los Angeles Daily News about the progress of the recording sessions for the band’s follow-up to 2018’s “Vicious” album. She said: “I don’t think I am the same person I was when I started writing the songs for this record. We wrote a lot [pre-pandemic] and threw a lot away; we recorded a lot and threw a lot away. New stuff just rose to the surface and the album began shaping itself into what it needed to be. It was truly life-saving to have that outlet and that direction during that time and we put everything we had into it so it’s going to be a barn burner because of that.” In a separate interview with Portland Mercury, Lzzy spoke about being able to work on new music helped her deal with the pandemic ...
KISS frontman Paul Stanley once again demonstrated his cooking chops in the kitchen overseeing “cruisers” aboard this year’s Kiss Kruise. The ship departed from New Orleans on October 29 for a five-day journey that took participants from Miami to Harvest Caye, Belize and Roatan, Honduras aboard Norwegian Jewel. Check out video footage below (courtesy of Mike Brunn). This past June, Stanley, who frequently uses social media to share photos of his culinary creations, was asked in an interview with Germany’s Radio Bob! if he has any plans to eventually release a cookbook. He responded: “Maybe at some point, but right now that cookbook would be very thin. If I were to collaborate with some of my friends who are chefs and whatever, I’d love to do a cookbook a...
SLIPKNOT will release a new single, “The Chapeltown Rag”, on Friday, November 5. The track was produced by Joe Baressi, who has previously worked with AVENGED SEVENFOLD, QUEENS OF THE STONE AGE and CHEVELLE, among many others. SLIPKNOT frontman Corey Taylor described the song to Knotfest.com as “a punisher,” saying it documents what happens when the distortions of mass media circulate within the echo chambers of social media. “It’s classic SLIPKNOT,” said Corey. “And it’s frenetic. But lyrically, it’s coming from a point of talking about the various manipulations that can happen when social media meets media itself. And the different ways that these manipulations can try to pull us in different directions, in the fact that we̵...

Two of the top All Stars final finishers are back on Season 2 — and this time, Darrell and Jonna are both going to have to “work harder and dig deeper” if they want to take home the $500,000 Challenge prize. Beginning with Darrell: The MTV veteran boasted a 4/4 finals Challenge record before All Stars; he nabbed first place on The Gauntlet, The Inferno, The Inferno II and Fresh Meat. But during the Season 1 final in Argentina, the Road Rules: Campus Crawl export had to accept second place to his fellow RR‘er Yes (he trailed the Semester at Sea alum) by two points. Now, Darrell is ready to take “the crown” on Season 2. So what is his strategy entering the unique game? “I’m doing me,” Darrell told MTV News. “I’m going to play ...
Following the massive success of Netflix‘s Squid Game, it didn’t take long until gamers started making clones of the show’s iconic mini-games on other platforms like GTA Online, but for those who don’t have access to Rockstar‘s title, worry not: Steam has now come to the rescue with a free-to-play clone called Crab Game. Created by Norwegian developer Dani — who is also responsible for the summer blockbuster rogue-lite Muck — Crab Game is a completely free PC game mimicking many of the events on the massively popular Korean series. Donning a blue tracksuit instead of a green one, you and your friends will be able to participate in games such as Red Light, Green Light and Glass Stepping Stones on top of a range of other additions including King of the Hill, Hid...
