In a recent interview with The Hollywood Reporter, comedic actor Will Ferrell divulged that he had turned down a $29 million USD offer to make an Elf sequel. Ferrell recalls the moment he refused the multi-million dollar deal to play Buddy, the man who was raised by Santa’s elves, just because the script was bad. He shared, “I would have had to promote the movie from an honest place, which would’ve been, like, ‘Oh no, it’s not good. I just couldn’t turn down that much money.’ And I thought, ‘Can I actually say those words?’ I don’t think I can, so I guess I can’t do the movie.’” At the time of its release in 2003, Elf was a raving success, grossing $220 million USD against a $33 million USD budget, later becoming one of the most popular Christmas movies of all time. However, the film did r...
A giant replica of Netflix‘s Squid Game “Red Light, Green Light” doll has landed in Sydney, Australia. The streaming platform recently commissioned the fully-working, incredibly lifelike and fear-inducing figure to be placed on Sydney’s The Rocks until November 1. Perth Now has reported that the doll stands at 4.57 meters tall and weights about 3,000 kilograms. Similar to the show, the doll promises the same workable features that see it turn its head and say “Red light, green light.” However, different from the events of the show, when movement is detected, the doll’s eyes do not shoot bullets, but rather just light up in red. Standing guard next to the doll are two Squid Game guards dressed in their pink suits and masks. Take a look below at the statue below. In case you missed it, Dwayn...

Featured below, the image shows Tom Holland‘s Parker walking down the snowy, winter streets of New York City. The season is said to play a particular role in the upcoming film, with the first trailer showing Parker meeting with Benedict Cumberbatch‘s Doctor Strange in his freezing Sanctum, the latter wearing all sorts of layers unusual of a superhero. Holland’s casual appearance also holds significance for No Way Home as it sets the entire premise for the film after Parker asks Strange for help to erase everyone’s memory of him being Spidey, setting off a chain of events that will bring mul...

Wale has revealed the reason behind his departure from JAY-Z‘s Roc Nation in 2014. In a recent episode of Drink Champs, the Folarin 2 artist explained that he “really had a meltdown” while he was opening for J. Cole‘s “What Dreams May Come True” in 2013. “I was in the Hov cypher for a long time, and there was a time that I was on tour with J. Cole and at this point, I was opening for him,” Wale shared. “And somebody in my circle was like, ‘You’re losing like, five grand every time you go on stage. You’re losing money.’ I couldn’t make sense of it. I just really had a meltdown. And I remember, I just quit the tour. It’s been all love since.” He continued, “I learned a lot from them. And JAY is still my idol.” Wale’s double downed on his admiration for Hov in a series of tweet regarding the ...
A DJ set from aya can be both thrilling and disorienting, a giddy maelstrom of jungle breaks, Dutch techno, UK funky, South African gqom, and who knows what else—plus edits of Charli XCX and “Call Me Maybe,” for good measure. Synthesized voices offer bite-sized philosophical observations (“Google Street View has allowed us to shrink geography,” proclaims a text-to-speech snippet midway through her 2018 Boiler Room set). Mic in hand, aya might shout crowd-stoking interjections, urge her supporters to vote Corbyn, or offer reflective commentary about her own tracks: At Krakow’s Unsound Festival this October, she said that “backsliding,” a queasy, K-holed vision of ambient grime peppered with cryptic references to hedonism and regret, is about leaving Manchester—“probably the hardest thing I’...
Kanye West could be releasing a deluxe edition of his 10th studio album, DONDA. Fans took to Twitter to reveal that several regional Apple Music websites, including Italy and Germany, supposedly have a release page for the new version. “A deluxe version of Yeezus’ tenth recording miracle,” the Apple Music Italy website read while the translated text on Apple Music Germany read, “Ye expands his epic artwork with new songs.” Ye’s camp has not confirmed any additional details, such a release date and updated tracklist, however the DONDA stem player arrived with three tracks: “Up From the Ashes,” a song that West originally recorded for 2019’s Jesus Is King, “Never Abandon Your Family,” which was scrapped from the final tracklist and “Life of the Party” featuring André 3000, which was lea...
Dave Chappelle officially inducted JAY-Z into the 2021 Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, while the likes of former POTUS Barack Obama, Beyoncé and more gave a message for the music icon. “It is an incredible honor to induct this next man into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. But I need everybody in rock n’ roll to know, that even though you are honoring him, he is ours. He is hip-hop. Forever and ever, and a day,” Chappelle said in a snippet of his speech. “We don’t have a complicated, emotional vocabulary. We have to make everything look easy, and this man is a diamond that was born of pressure. To coin a phrase that fellow Hall of Famer made — Tupac Shakur — he called it a rose that grows from the concrete, and that to us is what hip-hop is.” Meanwhile, Obama expressed his appreciation for ...
Amid multiple allegations of sexual misconduct, Marilyn Manson has found an unlikely ally in Kanye West. After appearing alongside Kanye at a listening event for his latest album, Donda, earlier this year, the disgraced rocker was again spotted with Kanye on Sunday — this time at his Sunday Service gospel concert. What’s more, Justin Bieber was also on hand. Manson, Bieber, and rapper Roddy Ricch all joined Kanye and his Sunday Service gospel choir for a rooftop performance held on Halloween. All of the parties were dressed entirely in white — with Manson also choosing to obscure his face with a mask. Alongside performances of Donda tracks like “No Child Left Behind” and “Moon” by the Sunday Service choir, Bieber and Ricch also performed a selection of their own songs. Kanye has seemingly ...

To nab the best-selling album in the land Down Under, “honestly, it’s mind-blowing,” comments the act’s drummer James Hunt. “To have been pipped at the post and debut at No. 2 with their last album, it makes this No. 1 debut even sweeter,” adds Dan Rosen, president of Warner Music Australasia. This leader “cements this incredible band as one of the great Aussie bands of the modern era,” Rosen continues. “We can’t wait to have the band back in the country soon for their amazing live show.” The Sydney outfit, currently based in the U.S., shaped Surrender during lockdown stints between Joshua Tree and Los Angeles. North American tour dates in support of the new album kicked off over the past weekend, and, in the weeks ahead, include a pair of headline shows at Banc of Califo...
They kicked off with a gospel rendition of Donda‘s “No Child Left Behind” before moving into other standout cuts from the project taking on West’s late mother’s namesake such as “Hurricane,” “Moon” and “Pure Souls” with the help of Compton native Roddy Ricch. Ye then led the charge with vocals from the glorious “Come to Life,” which he even apologized for forgetting some of the lyrics mid-performance. A children’s choir made a guest appearance in mini-white cloaks to match the rest of the Choir’s ensemble. The group of talented kids performed Donda‘s “Jesus Lord” and put a religious spin on Kanye’s 2007 hit “Can’t Tell Me Nothing.” The Sunday Service Choir too...
