“Well I’m no longer available to any of them now!!! I don’t mind being alone … and actually I’m tired of being this understanding Mother Teresa… if you’re rude to me then I’m done… peace out,” she continued before adding, “This message is to my family… for hurting me deeper than you’ll ever know!!!” Spears also noted, “I know the conservatorship is about to be over but I still want justice!!! I’m only 5’4″ and I’ve played the bigger person my entire life… do you now how hard that is???” The recent post is not the first time Spears has called out her family on social media. Earlier this month, Spears wrote of her family, “If you’re like my family who says things like ‘sorry, you’re in a conservatorship’ … probably thinking you’re different so they can fuck with you !!!! Thankfully I found a...
Adele’s comeback track “Easy On Me” blasted to No. 1 on the Official U.K. Chart last Friday, setting records along the way. The song is roaring up the charts around the planet, as it starts at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 and Global Charts, Australia’s national survey and elsewhere. “Easy On Me” is the first track lifted from Adele’s 30, her forthcoming fourth album due out Nov. 19. It’s the followup to 2015’s 25, an album so popular, Adele was crowned IFPI Global Recording Artist of the Year for the year, an award which recognizes the top artist across physical sales, downloads and streaming. Her global tour in support of that album was pure box office dynamite. When it wrapped, Adele stepped away from the public glare for five-long years, until “Easy On Me” dropped in full earlier this...

Liz Harris always seems to be telling us a secret. The catch—and the thing that makes her music as Grouper so fascinating—is we’re never sure what. Titles like “Thanksgiving Song” and “The Man Who Died in His Boat” hint that she’s letting us in on specific moments and memories, but the lyrics lean toward abstraction, and that’s when you can make them out from behind a thick wall of reverb. From 2014’s Ruins onward, Harris has scrubbed away much of the grit from her sound, and it’s been a thrill to watch her music hint at candor before ducking back into the shadows where it thrives. Shade takes this knife’s-edge balance between intimacy and inscrutability to the extreme. Many of Shade’s nine tracks feel like experiments in how much Harris can remove from her music while retaining its essent...
RATING: 8/10 Following his 2015 departure from Helsinki’s renowned BATTLE BEAST, guitarist extraordinaire Anton Kabanen launched BEAST IN BLACK, a project that is equally if not more over the top in its forwarding of unabashed heavy metal thunder. The unit’s first two albums, 2017’s “Berserker” and 2019’s “From Hell With Love”, have been revered globally by power metal fiends, to say the least. BEAST IN BLACK is essentially a household name in Finland where the aforementioned releases both reached platinum status. In the face of high expectations, BEAST IN BLACK delivers on their third outing, “Dark Connection”. BEAST IN BLACK didn’t have a sophomore slump following its impressive debut, and “Dark Connection” tru...
MÖTLEY CRÜE bassist Nikki Sixx, who contributed lead vocals to the band’s song “Rocketship” and provided additional singing to “Find Myself”, was asked in a new interview with the “My Mom’s Basement” podcast if he has ever considered launching a project where he was also the frontman. He responded (as transcribed by BLABBERMOUTH.NET): “Before the pandemic, I got into this lesson thing. So I started guitar lessons online. I just pluck away on the guitar, and I can write an okay song on the guitar, but I don’t know a lot about the instrument other than I like to write from root notes — a so, simple chords and all the [sus guitar chords] and all the interchangeable notes that work within that chord, I don’t have a ton of knowle...
During an interview with TWISTED SISTER bassist Mark “The Animal” Mendoza‘s Internet show “22 Now”, former DREAM THEATER and current THE WINERY DOGS drummer Mike Portnoy once again spoke about a hypothetical scenario in which he would be chosen to tour with Geddy Lee and Alex Lifeson as the replacement for late RUSH drummer Neil Peart. Asked if he would be interested in taking that gig, Portnoy said: “Of course. That would be a dream to play with those guys. But I don’t wanna see the Blabbermouth headline right now, me thinking that I deserve the gig. I’m not saying that. You’re asking me a question. Hypothetically, of course, it would be a dream come true. Neil was my hero, and always will be, and Geddy and Alex are as well. “I d...
