Name Roger Sanchez Best known for “Another Chance”; 4 deck DJ sets; laser-cut, two-toned beard and sci-fi nerd. Current city Miami Really want to be in Exactly where I am, making beats and spray painting a few walls. Excited about Another Chance to Dance Tour, some very exciting new colabs, new artist album in the works, NFTs, graffiti pieces. My current music collection has a lot of Massive Attack, Ykonosh (organic house), London Grammar, Nas, El Mundo. And a little bit of Soul, alternative. Don’t judge me for Nah, I’m happy with all of my music. Preferred format Vinyl is fun to play, but sucks to carry a ton of it on the road. I like WAVs to listen to and they sound great when mastered properly and played out on analog systems. [...
The late 1980s were rough on Matthew Sweet. After cutting his teeth in the Athens, Georgia college radio scene, playing in a ton of bands including Community Trolls with R.E.M.’s Michael Stipe, Oh-OK with Stipe’s sister Lynda, and the Buzz of Delight with Oh-OK drummer David Pierce, Sweet left the indie underground to sign with a major label, Columbia Records, as a solo artist. But his first two full-lengths, 1986’s Inside and 1989’s Earth, received mixed reviews and failed to meet commercial expectations. By the end of the decade, his career was in jeopardy and he was getting divorced. Then, out of that professional and personal tumult, came Girlfriend, an instant classic that redefined the breakup album. “It’s not just breakup,” Sweet told SPIN over the phone. “It’s also looking fo...

Most Marvel fans would agree that Captain America: Civil War was a pivotal moment for the MCU, disbanding a group of avenging superheroes that wouldn’t reunite until many movies later at the end of Phase 3 to take on Thanos. However, as it turns out, things could’ve been very different for the cinematic universe, as it has now been revealed that Marvel almost axed the fight scene between Cap and Iron Man at the very end of the film. A new book titled The Story of Marvel Studios: The Making of the Marvel Cinematic Universe recorded some of the key moments within the creation of the mega-franchise, and one part detailed how the Marvel Creative Committee disagreed with Kevin Feige and the Russo Brothers on how Civil War should have ended. While the latter group wanted Steve Rog...
