Closing in on a nearly three-year hiatus, the reemergence of superstar Australian trio RÜFÜS DU SOL was sudden and secretive. In early July, arcane posters appeared in Los Angeles and Sydney, depicting only the band’s website and the word “Alive.” Luckily, fans were not left in the dark for long, as RÜFÜS DU SOL revealed their first original song since 2018’s Grammy-nominated Solace album just days later. Hailed by many as their biggest release to date, the aptly titled song informed fans that the trio are very much “Alive.” According to an earlier statement made by RÜFÜS DU SOL member Tyrone Lindqvist, the single attests to how the band has been feeling over the past year. “We are—all of us—living in t...
You can now dance on water, thanks to the world’s first floating dancefloor. The team behind the The Yacht Week have developed the buoyed stage, which is so big that they had to register it as a vessel with local authorities. The organizers of the weeklong nautical music festival experience had tested the stage in Croatia earlier this summer, when they anchored it alongside the Buzz Boat, the brand’s high-tech floating DJ booth. The 60-square meter dancefloor, which can hold about 80 people, is built from durable PEHD plastic with a hardwood flooring deck. Once towed out to sea, the stage is then anchored to the seafloor in between two rows of yachts, offering a “floating festival.” Recommended Articles “We’ve been putting on epic parties as part of ...
We all know too well what quarantine looks and feels like. But what does it sound like? Elephante attempts to answer this question with his latest album, Heavy Glow, released October 20th via Zoo Music/88Rising. The recorrd’s 10 tracks play like an epic, with emotion oozing from every chord. Intricately aligned arrangements signal to Elephante’s classical music training, while his own bold vocals tie together three acts of songs that purposefully push the boundaries of the album’s aural cohesion. The triumphant opening chords of “Break” (with Tiina), for example, are effervescent, paired with strong sonics and Tiina’s delicate vocals. Its sonics provide sharp contrast to “Down This Road,” an anthemic melodic bass ballad that takes a page...
RATING: 9/10 In the UK, and increasingly everywhere else too, people are going absolutely fucking nuts for GREEN LUNG. This London-based five-piece released their debut album “Woodland Rites” in 2019 and were swiftly (and justifiably) hailed as the best thing to happen to massive, Sabbath-fueled riffs, ’70s proto-metal pomp and sledgehammer stoner rock for a very, very long time. Having been denied the opportunity to hit the road in support of their debut record, the Brits have simply cracked on and made another one. Pleasingly, it’s even better than its predecessor and seems guaranteed to make a great number of new people go absolutely fucking nuts for this band. The elements that collide to make the GREEN LUNG sound are all thoroughly familiar, and yet the end res...

The as-yet-untitled film, which will focus on the love story between the BLACK SABBATH frontman and his wife and manager, will be scripted by Lee Hall, who previously worked on Elton John‘s “Rocketman”. “Our relationship at times was often wild, insane and dangerous but it was our undying love that kept us together,” said Sharon. “We’re thrilled to partner with Sony Pictures and Polygram to bring our story to the screen.” The film is being produced by Sharon and her children Jack and Aimée Osbourne via their label Osbourne Media (which was also behind the Showtime documentary “God Bless Ozzy OsbourneR...
Nikki Sixx spoke to SiriusXM‘s “Trunk Nation L.A. Invasion” about MÖTLEY CRÜE‘s “The Stadium Tour” with DEF LEPPARD which was originally scheduled to take place last summer but ended up being pushed back to 2021, and then to 2022, due to the coronavirus crisis. Asked if there are plans for additional CRÜE dates beyond next summer’s shows, the 62-year-old bassist said (as transcribed by BLABBERMOUTH.NET): “I know we’re gonna tour next year, and that’s gonna take us from June 19th to sometime in September. And then winter sets in, and we’re in America, so there’s nowhere else to play — unless we can go to other countries where it’s summertime or spring or fall there. But what’s gonna happen with COVID? So I d...

Here’s something to chew on: Adele was asked in a new interview about her most prized possession, and the superstar singer produced a piece of used gum that had once graced the mandibles of Celine Dion. The revelation came as part of Vogue‘s 73 Questions series, though Adele answered 95, seemingly as a tribute to her album titles (19+21+25+ the upcoming 30). As to how she acquired such an interesting artifact, it turns out she got a little help from her friend. “James Corden — who’s a friend of mine but also does ‘Carpool Karaoke,’ which I did — he did it with her and knew how much of a fan of her I was,” Adele said. “And so he made her spit her gum into a piece of paper and he framed it for me, and it’s my proudest possession!” Advertisement Related Video Elsewhere in the interv...
