SIXX:A.M., the long-running project featuring MÖTLEY CRÜE bassist Nikki Sixx alongside former GUNS N’ ROSES guitarist DJ Ashba and vocalist James Michael, will release a compilation album, “Hits”, on October 22 via Better Noise Music. The album is a retrospective celebration of SIXX:A.M.‘s biggest hits and fan-favorite songs that also includes previously five unheard tracks and mixes, marking the band’s first official album with new material since 2016. Michael discussed “Hits” and SIXX:A.M.‘s future plans during a new interview with Metal On Loud. When the interviewer pointed out to James that greatest-hits albums are usually something that bands release at the end of their careers, he responded (as transcribed by BLABBERMOUTH.NET): “I...
Nikki Sixx spoke to USA Today about MÖTLEY CRÜE‘s “The Stadium Tour” with DEF LEPPARD which was originally scheduled to take place last summer but ended up being pushed back to 2021, and then to 2022, due to the coronavirus crisis. Asked if he thinks the trek will finally take place next year, the bassist said: “Yes, I do. We didn’t want to go out this past summer because we didn’t want to expose our fans to possibly getting COVID and 80,000 people all with their mouths open singing ‘Shout At The Devil’ doesn’t sound like we would be doing the right thing for our fans and our crew. Do I believe COVID will still be here next year? Yes. But we’ll have to do the best that we can do. The bigger question is, what does ’23 look li...

California hard rockers OF MICE & MEN will release their seventh album, “Echo”, on December 3 via SharpTone Records. The LP is comprised of the previously issued “Timeless” and “Bloom” EPs, along with the new and final “Ad Infinitum” EP. The EP will be released on vinyl in April 2022. The band has also shared the video for latest single “Fighting Gravity”. Watch it below. “‘Fighting Gravity’ is about learning to let go, while also recognizing the impermanence and shortness of life,” says bassist/vocalist Aaron Pauley. “We think we’re in control of so much, but we’re really not, and that existential dilemma is at the foundation of the human condition.” “‘Echo’ is...
Mount Westmore — a new rap supergroup consisting of Snoop Dogg, Ice Cube, E-40 and Too $hort — have released their debut single “Big Subwoofer,” along with a corresponding music video. The visual, directed by Jesse Wellens and Sam Macaroni, sees the West Coast rappers blast off into space and perform from an alien planet. “Big Subwoofer” will land on the upcoming Def Jam compilation project, Snoop Dogg Presents the Alogrithm, which is slated to feature artists from the record label’s “past, present and future.” “There’s so much talent on this record, so many styles of music, it breaks the algorithm,” Snoop Dogg said in a statement. “Right now, the algorithm is telling us you have to rap this way, you have to sound this way, but they’re not telling you how it’s supposed to feel. My algorith...
It appears that Young Thug’s new album Punk hasn’t distracted the rapper from his plans for Slime City. Thug wants to make the miniature city solar-powered and has requested Elon Musk’s help to pull off the project. Thug was gifted 100 acres of land by his manager Geoff Ogunlesi and realtor Trey Williams for his 30th birthday in August. Williams shared that the rapper plans to build houses, a waterpark, a dirt bike trail, and a camping site on the property. It’s also expected that he’ll use it as the site for a music festival called Slime Fest. “I wanna make Slime City solar powered wya,” Thug publicly tweeted at Musk last night. Dune is officially releasing a day early on HBO Max. According to reports, Denis Villenueve’s adaptation will be premiering on the streaming platform on October 21 instead of October 22 — the film’s actual release date in the U.S. HBO Max will release Dune on the same day as the preview screenings in theaters, allowing subscribers to watch the sci-fi epic just as early as moviegoers. It will be available on the service for 30 days, similar to other Warner Bros. films. The Timotheé Chalamet-starring film raked in $36.8 million USD at the global office within the first 24 hours of its premiere in September. Speaking to Total Film earlier this year, Villenueve shared that he is writing the second Dune film despite it not receiving the green light yet. “I’m writing [Part Two] now, and I feel l...
Located at North Bridge in Chicago is The Office Experience, which gives fans of the beloved tv series a chance to immerse themselves into the world of Dunder Mifflin Paper Company. In partnership with Universal Live Entertainment, Superfly X constructed a two-story interactive set up which is the largest official experience to date as it’s composed of 17 rooms complete with the original props and costumes intricately detailed to a tee. The recreated office includes the full exterior of Scranton Business Park, the office itself with Michael’s, Pam’s desk, Ryan’s closet, conference room, and pantry room. Specific areas commemorating special episodes such as Kevin’s Chili Spill, Beach Day, and the love story of Pam and Jim from Niagra Falls to the wedding chapel are all incorporated into the...
In anticipation of the upcoming Scream installment, Paramount has now released a new featurette detailing how Ghostface‘s iconic mask came to be. Viewable above, the minute-long clip features the original film’s writer Kevin Williamson explaining how the production team first came across the mask and why they decided to adopt it into the movie. “No one could agree on a mask and I remember we were in a location scout, and we found Ghostface,” recalls Williamson. “It was in a box of stuff in a garage that we were location scouting in, and we asked the owner if we could take it because Wes [Craven] immediately looked at it and said, ‘This is like the famous Scream painting.’ And so we took that to our production and we said, ‘Riff on this and see if you can make something like this.’ The...
In many ways, adapting a beloved franchise for television is a thankless task. You’re often working with an unwieldy source material (be that a comic book, video game, or novel) that doesn’t easily translate into the episodic structure of TV. Plus, you’ve got to grapple with the high expectations of the fans — and their unmitigated fury if you mess it up. And it’s hardly a guaranteed win: for every Walking Dead, Watchmen, or Game of Thrones, there’s those that fizzle or flop, like Shadow and Bone, The Alienist, or, indeed, the much-hated final series of Thrones. Despite that, three of the giants of the streaming industry — Netflix, HBO, and Amazon — are betting on a trio of new re-workings of beloved franchises. Next month, Amazon launches The Wheel of Time, a sprawling, high-fantasy epic ...
The controversy that surrounds the album Let It Be down the years makes it the most intriguing release by The Beatles. Many observers consider it ill-conceived, a slapdash affair and a sad ending to a great legacy. It is doubtful any band (of any longevity) had as much influence as The Beatles in their seven-year recording career. McCartney still peppers his live setlist with the title track. Some call it a very weak album, but with three No. 1 singles, it certainly warrants the current attention. The story is fairly well known. McCartney hatched the idea of capturing on film the band creating, rehearsing and performing entirely new songs. In the cavernous and dank Twickenham film studios the band gathered on the second day of 1969 (“like playing table tennis in a football stadium”). The f...
Even just a handful of years ago, the Yakuza series was viewed as a “big in Japan” IP that hadn’t quite crossed over into the rest of the world yet. Something about the contemporary Japanese setting, complex characters, and often wild storylines just didn’t work for the Western crowd. But (as we mentioned in our Yakuza: Like a Dragon feature last year) that’s all changed now. Audiences around the world have caught up to what Japanese fans have known since 2005 and now embrace the series — and Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio’s related projects, like last month’s Lost Judgment. The sequel to 2019’s (or 2018’s, for Japan) Judgment, the latest title once again features private detective Takayuki Yagami doing what he does best by investigating a suspected criminal. As per usual, the tale takes some twists...
