MÖTLEY CRÜE bassist Nikki Sixx spoke to Australia’s “The Project” about his just-released memoir, “The First 21: How I Became Nikki Sixx”. Available via Hachette Books, the book explores the Idaho-born Franklin Carlton Feranna‘s early childhood and troubled teenaged years before he ended up in Hollywood where he — under the names Nikki London, Nikki Nine, and, finally, Nikki Sixx — broke through in the music industry. “I was born Frank Feranna in 1958,” Nikki explained (as transcribed by BLABBERMOUTH.NET). “A lot of messaging that I heard when I was a young boy about my dad and about my mom — and I ended up being raised by my grandparents — I kind of carried that with me. When I got into that time in my life when I started to become of ...
Isaiah Rashad has dropped off a music video for “THIB,” the title track from his latest album. Directed by Gus Bendinelli, the accompanying visual begins with an exploding and burning house — alluding to the title The House Is Burning — and sees the TDE artist driving around the neighborhood, attending a party and getting sucked into a mirror. It ends with a clip of Rashad finishing up a painting of himself, harking back to the themes of Oscar Wilde’s The Picture of Dorian Gray. In an interview with Rolling Stone, Rashad touched on why he titled the album The House Is Burning: “It’s like a scenario that you either can lay down with the flames or die from trying to hold on to material things and shit like that, or you can get out in a timely manner. And if it all burns down, you still going...
Young Thug has shared that he was in the studio with Mac Miller a day before the latter died as they worked on their PUNK collaboration, “Day Before.” Speaking on The Breakfast Club, Thugger revealed, “[Miller] was at my studio. We did the song on my album. This shit so crazy, but coincidental. He came to the studio, did a song. The next day, he died. And the song that we did at the studio, the name of the song is ‘Day Before.’ Shit crazy.” “But the song is just about women,” he explained of the track. “Like…Back then they didn’t want me, now I’m hot, they all…It was like, flamboyant. Yeah, ‘Day Before.’ This n***a died the next day, bro.” Young Thug added that while he didn’t expect to be the last time he would ever see Miller, he does look back on that studio session, “Yeah, I think deep...
Meek Mill has opened up about the possibility of retiring from rap, stating that he is looking forward to pursuing his other interests in life. In a recent interview, the Expensive Pain artist explained that he “can’t be performing forever” and that he’s been in the rap game for a while. “I got like three or four more years left,” Mill shared. “That’s it! I’ve been rapping since I was 23. I can’t be performing forever. I think these the last years I’m going hard with music and then I’m gonna pursue other stuff.” Music will remain a driving force in his life, however, but just not in the extent it currently is now. “At the same time, I’ll still make music. But going on tour, working on the albums for six months, being away from my family that long? I give up,” he added. “Let the young n****...

Netflix is changing up the way it ranks its most popular shows. The adjustment was explained in a recent letter from the company to its shareholders. The streaming platform has historically based its rankings on the completion of at least the first two minutes of a show or film in the first 28 days following its debut. At last month’s Code Conference, however, Netflix co-CEO Ted Sarandos shared new data that ranked the company’s top series and films according to their total viewed hours rather than according to the two-minute metric. In comparison, the two standards produced slightly different lists of what could be considered Netflix’s most popular offerings. Ranking content formulated on most-viewed hours will likely yield a more accurate look at what viewers are streaming, given that ma...

Recently, Fat Joe weighed in on a Busta Rhymes VERZUZ rap battle and said that it has been very difficult to get rappers to face-off against him. Even, Fat Joe himself has said that he is not willing to compete with Busta in fear of being annihilated. In response to Fat Joe’s comments, Crazy Legs posted to Instagram a photo of himself with Busta and Swizz Beatz. Accompanying the photo was the caption, “I had to let @bustarhymes know that no one is worthy enough to battle him. Then he told me that 5 people already turned it down. Some things are just what they are. He has the unfortunate pleasure of being a god in the rap game. Shout out to @therealswizzz for the #BDP outfit of the day!” Fat Joe recently equated Busta Rhymes to be the boxer that could “knock everybody out.” He said, “People...
