The event at Stockholm’s Kungsträdgården featured sets from First Aid Kit, Victor Leksell, Loreen, Royal Republic and many more, as well as activists including Black Lives Matter Sweden’s Aysha Jones. The show unfolded just weeks before the Oct. 31 kick-of of the 2021 United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP26) in Glasgow, Scotland. Last month, Thunberg once again laid into world leaders who she says are not doing nearly enough to combat climate change at a youth climate summit in Milan, lashing politicians for spending the past 30 years bloviating and offering up a lot of “blah, blah, blah.” “This is not about some expensive, politically correct dream at the bunny hugging or blah, blah, blah,” Grunberg said in her signature no-BS, punk rock fa...
The title of Maxo’s latest effort, Weight of the World — released this past Monday (Oct. 18) — is appropriate as it arrives not only at a unique time in his life but for the world at large. Obviously much changed for him personally, but we are all still reeling from the stoppages caused by COVID-19, despite the fact a new normal has been created. In the time before vaccinations and loosened protocols, the Roc Nation signee took the time to be more thoughtful and strategic on his third studio album (and second under RCA), after a two-year hiatus following 2019 breakout album Brandon Banks. “The whole COVID [thing] gave me more time to really go deep and seep into my music,” he says. “Everything planned out perfectly, I feel like it’s the perfect time — and after this...
You can pin a lot of influences on Dallas death metal band Creeping Death, and most of them wouldn’t be far off the mark. Like a lot of modern death metal bands who came up through hardcore, you hear a lot of Bolt Thrower’s pointed riffing and slamming breakdowns. Some of those breakdowns hit with a force where one might think they were directly plucked from Suffocation. Their new EP, The Edge of Existence, out now through MNRK Heavy, gives even more points of comparison: some of the groovy riffs take on a more Obituary character, and the lead guitar work straddles the line between mid-period Death and early Gorguts, jumping outside the lines a bit. A track like “Humanity Transcends” has a cosmic eye that hasn’t been seen in their work before. It’s still quite lean and mean – Creeping Deat...
HipHopWired Featured Video It’s been more than three years since the untimely passing of the beloved Mac Miller, but last Friday not only were his fans elated that his 2014 mixtape, Faces, finally made it onto streaming services, they also got some new posthumous visuals to accompany the release. For the visuals to “San Francisco” Mac Miller’s team put out some never-before-seen footage of Mac simply staring into the camera and rapping along to the song while digital enhancements make the visual both enticing and entertaining. Not gonna lie, it was tough to watch Mac living and breathing again knowing he’s gone. Rest in peace, Mac. Curren$y meanwhile keeps his affinity for fancy automobiles front and center (as always) and in his latest clip to “The World Is Ours” Spitta gets fam...
Not so much fun: Young Thug has filed a lawsuit against a luxury apartment building in Atlanta, claiming the concierge service handed out a bag of his personal belongings — including a hard drive containing over 200 unreleased songs — to a stranger. According to legal documents viewed by AllHipHop, the mixup happened at a complex called The Trace in midtown Atlanta. Thugger reportedly left a leather Louis Vuitton bag in the parking garage next to his black Lamborghini on November 1st, 2020. Another resident spotted the orphaned luggage and turned it into the concierge desk. The employee who received the bag then contacted Young Thug and left instructions that no one should give away the bag without approval. Soon afterwards, a different employee handed the bag to an unknown person, an...

According to a new report from Variety, the media giant has been forced to push back all three release dates due to production delays snowballing from the COVID-19 pandemic. For now, Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness has been moved back from March 25, 2022 to May 6, taking the spot previously slated for Thor: Love and Thunder.
