In Photos: Artist of the Month Remi Wolf’s Sold-Out Show at Music Hall of Williamsburg

After blowing up during the pandemic, Remi Wolf arrived in Brooklyn last week to deliver her sold-out headlining show at Music Hall of Williamsburg. Even though this is only her first official tour, it’s likely the last chance fans will get to see her in a venue this size; before the gig even started, her next New York concert at the much larger Webster Hall in February was already sold out. Consequence was on hand at the MHOW to catch up with the funky soul pop artist for our latest Artist of the Month spotlight. Of course, we stuck around to catch the show itself, and you can check out our fully photo gallery below — including exclusive behind-the-scenes shots and portraits. Also, read our review of Remi Wolf’s debut album, Juno, and snag tickets to all her upcoming tour dates via T...

JUDAS PRIEST’s IAN HILL Doesn’t Rule Out Writing Memoir: ‘It’ll Probably Be About My Early Life’

In a recent interview with Rockin’ Metal Revival, JUDAS PRIEST guitarist Ian Hill was asked if he has any plans to write a book in the not-too-distant future. He responded: “We’ll see. If I do, it’ll probably be about my early life, I should imagine. Probably up until [singer] Rob [Halford] joined. Everything else has been cataloged by Rob and Ken [founding guitarist K.K. Downing], in slightly different ways. But all that’s already been said, really. But the lead-up to all of that. I mean, there’s some great instances, some funny instances — how I came to play bass guitar for starters; that’s funny in itself.” Hill is the sole remaining original member of PRIEST, which formed in 1969. Halford joined the group in 1973 and guitarist Glenn Tipto...

SKID ROW is continuing work on its long-awaited new album for a tentative early 2022 release. The band is recording its new album in Nashville, Tennesse with producer Nick Raskulinecz, who has previously worked with FOO FIGHTERS, STONE SOUR, HALESTORM, EVANESCENCE, RUSH and ALICE IN CHAINS, among many others. SKID ROW‘s new LP will mark its first release with South African-born, British-based vocalist ZP Theart (DRAGONFORCE, TANK, I AM I), who joined the band in 2016 following the departure of Tony Harnell (TNT, STARBREAKER). Unlike 2014’s “Rise Of The Damnation Army – United World Rebellion: Chapter Two” and 2013’s “United World Rebellion: Chapter One”, SKID ROW‘s forthcoming release will be a full-length record. Bassist Rachel Bolan o...

Watch Billie Eilish Perform “Happier Than Ever” on ‘Jimmy Kimmel’

Billie Eilish stopped by Jimmy Kimmel Live! on Wednesday evening to perform the title track off her new album, Happier Than Ever. Alongside her brother and collaborator Finneas, Elish appeared on the roof of the Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel, where she gave an emotional performance of the chart-topping track. Eilish then sat down with Kimmel to discuss her James Bond song “No Time to Die,” her photo book, William Shatner’s New Shepard spaceflight and what’s left on her childhood bucket list. After looking at the Eilish’s bucket list suggestions, Kimmel gave the singer a chance to cross off a few wishes by helping her cut an audience member’s hair, giving her a pet mouse, allowing her to punch him in the stomach and getting her kicked out of Target. Coldplay’s Music of the Spheres Mixes Anthems With Space Junk

A weary voice actor steps into a Hollywood studio soundbooth. Maybe it’s Will Arnett. It’s probably Will Arnett. Will Arnett sips his coffee, slides his headphones on and speaks into the microphone, addressing his producer: “Alright, Frankie, what are we hawking today? More Reese’s cups?” “No, Will, we’ve got something new for ya. It’s, it’s … a Coldplay ad.” Will Arnett closes his eyes and pinches the bridge of his nose. “Yeah, I know, they got a new record or something” Frankie says. “Let’s try a take. Maybe do it like a ‘90s movie trailer guy. You can even do the LEGO Batman voice!” “Jesus Christ,” Will Arnett mutters, glancing at his watch. “Okay, let’s do this.” The tape rolls, he begins. “Coming this fall: THEY are the most successful pop-rock band of the 21st Century. HE’S produced ...

‘We’re Gonna Leave With The Money’: Can Allies Ashley And Amanda Really Win The Challenge?

Flowers might typically wilt and wither come summer’s end, but on The Challenge, Lavender Ladies Ashley and Amanda are poised to extend their bloom for seasons to come. The question is: Will Spies, Lies and Allies finally be the game in which Ashley and Amanda can go the distance…together? On the latest episode of Season 37, and amid twists and turns that’d leave a champion acrobat dizzy, the two took a minute to reflect on their years-long friendship, which they first nurtured as rookies on Rivals III. The ladies proceeded to spend five straight seasons side by side, and with Amanda’s return on Spies after a lengthy hiatus, Ashley waxed poetic about how far her fiery friend — a new mom — had come. “I’m just so honored to be Amanda’s friend,” Ashley said. “She’s such a great human. She’s a...

Remi Wolf Recorded Juno In Isolation. Now It’s Time To Party

Remi Wolf wants you to finally let loose at her shows. Zooming with MTV News in a baby-pink sweatshirt and an all-caps “deep funk and divine intervention” slogan baseball cap, Wolf, 25, recalls writing and recording her hallucinatory debut album, Juno, out tomorrow (October 15). The singer-songwriter’s powerhouse pipes and funk-infused sound have already scored her collabs with industry legends like Nile Rodgers and Beck, cementing her status as an alt-pop whiz kid. Her music is fun, frisky, and utterly her own. But what you can’t glean from her brazen lyrics or trippy Insta aesthetic is how much Wolf struggled personally while making the record. She was newly sober, living amid COVID-19-related lockdowns, and adjusting to life with her adopted French bulldog, Juno, the album’s namesake. “...

Chelsea Cutler Is Breaking Up With Sad Songs

By Megan Armstrong As a young girl, Chelsea Cutler wrote on a whiteboard hanging in her childhood bedroom that she would one day play Radio City Music Hall, as if penning it in would make her wish come true. The 24-year-old singer placed a new emphasis on that goal in March 2020 during the worst of the coronavirus pandemic, when nationwide lockdowns forced her to cancel her headlining tour in support of her debut album How to be Human and return to her parents’ home in Westport, Connecticut. Since she dropped out of Amherst College to open for the pop artist Quinn XCII in 2018, the most rewarding thing for Cutler has been moving tickets and connecting with her fans in person. Every day, she would close her eyes and dream about being back on stage. “I’ve noticed that a huge thing with my de...

BLACKSTARKIDS Get Real With Puppies Forever

There’s something to admire about the effervescent gleam that radiates from BLACKSTARKIDS. From the bravado they proudly carry on songs like “Britney Bitch” to an aesthetic consisting of neon clothes and flowing afros, the group’s inherent charisma stems from simply being their authentic selves. The trio—consisting of Ty, The Babe Gabe and Deiondre—manages to infuse diverse musical influences into the experimental sounds they create. Their latest album, Puppies Forever, shows off blistering confidence that has only soared since last year’s Whatever, Man. From the slick boasts and shy bars of “Fight Club” to the pop-punk glow of “I Hate Being in Love,” their latest offering is as infectious and shiny as they are. However, “ACAB”—which stands for “All Cops Are Bastards,” is the boldest and m...
