Step aside, Sally Rooney — now that her father has finally been suspended as her conservator, Britney Spears is here to conquer every young woman’s literary fiction reading list. In an Instagram post shared this week, the singer announced plans to write her debut novel. Its plot, as summarized by Spears herself, seems eerily familiar. “I’m writing a book about a girl who was murdered yet her ghost gets stuck in limbo because of trauma and pain and she doesn’t know how to cross over to the world she [used] to know,” the pop star wrote underneath a photo of a hand holding a pen. “After being stuck in limbo for three years, she is a ghost who thrives off of her reflection in her mirror for existence!!!! She has no one she can trust but something happens and she figures out how to cross over ...
If the latest James Bond film can be directed by an American, then anything is possible. Now that California native Cary Fogi Fukunaga’s No Time to Die has finally hit theaters, the door seems open for fellow US filmmakers to speculate about their own take on 007, including Denis Villeneuve. In a new interview on the podcast Happy. Sad. Confused., Villeneuve discussed his longtime dream to direct an installment in the Bond franchise, saying it would be “a privilege” and “pure cinematic joy.” “I would deeply love one day to make a James Bond movie,” the Dune director said. “It’s a character that I’ve been with since my childhood. I have massive affection for Bond. It would be a big challenge to try and reboot it after what Daniel did.” Villeneuve continued to rave about Daniel Cra...
Despite the tragic recent passing of their longtime drummer Charlie Watts, The Rolling Stones are carrying on with their US tour, which commenced in St. Louis, Missouri, on September 26th. However, fans who were lucky enough to catch the band’s first few dates have noticed that one very popular Stones hit, “Brown Sugar,” hasn’t made the cut in the setlist so far. If you’ll recall, the opening line to “Brown Sugar” goes: “Gold coast slave ship bound for cotton fields.” While the lyric has widely been interpreted as a critique of slavery, a recent interview with The Los Angeles Times indicates that Mick Jagger and Keith Richards feared the line would be misconstrued in 2021. “I’m trying to figure out with the sisters quite where the beef is,” Richards said. “Didn’t they understand ...
Everett Morton, co-founding member and drummer of influential UK ska band The Beat, has died at the age of 71. “It is with great sadness that we have to announce the passing of Everett Morton, a beautiful and talented man,” The Beat’s official Twitter account wrote in a tweet posted on Saturday. “His family are naturally grieving. Raves can occur just about anywhere, but we never cease to marvel at the strange locations they pop up at in 2021. Last month, a rave went down at the Aviation Hall of the Royal Museum of the Armed Forces and Military History in Brussels. Inspired by flight and the curiosity that drove humans to develop aircraft, the IIIMAGINE event took place across three days and featured performances from DC Salas, Farrago, Ben Kamal, and Curtis Alto, among others. Alto, the Belgian dance music duo who organized the event, had a goal to create a one-of-a-kind experience. “Humans have been dreaming about being able to fly for thousands of years,” reads the event’s Facebook page. “Whether it was the myth of Icarus in Ancient Greece or the scientific endeavour of Leonardo Da Vinci, ...
When a trio of gospel singers came out and the Queen got down on her knees, the audience – which included her daughter Lourdes Leon, Drag Race winner Aquaria, Pose star Dyllon Burnside and choreographer and longtime associate Jose Gutierez Xtravaganza – collectively skipped a heartbeat, knowing which song was coming next. But never content with business as usual, Madonna didn’t let the venue contain her – she led the pop-up show’s crowd out onto the streets of Harlem for an unlikely late-night street party. Megaphones in hand, M and Batiste had the crowd singing “Like a Prayer” (surprisingly in tune for 2 a.m.) down the middle of 126th Street, with an amiable tuba keeping time and a freestyling saxophone elevating the joyous, jazzy rendition of the Billboard Hot 100...

“My intention for 2021 is to continue to set goals and have fun while doing them,” the singer says, “make sure I put my family first, and hopefully we squish out a nugget.” “In 2021?” a surprised Hailey exclaims. “The end of 2021? We start trying?” Bieber suggests, to which she replies, “I don’t know. OK, maybe. Check out the clip below. Speaking about his first stadium tour, Trujillo said: “Opening for ANTHRAX in Germany with SUICIDAL TENDENCIES, I could not believe the energy. Like for instance, Munich, Germany — I remember being on that stage and seeing the same st...
