Watch Nandi Bushell, Roman Morello Rock Out With Greta Thunberg on ‘The Children Will Rise Up’

Nandi Bushell, the 11-year-old drumming virtuoso, teamed up with 10-year-old guitarist Roman Morello (son of Tom), for a raucous anthem they co-wrote together about saving the planet before “it’s too late,” as Bushell sings. “The Children Will Rise Up” video is bookended by Jack Black, who gives his primordial devil-horned salute to the young rockers. Morello senior also shows up like a galactic deity, mouthing “That’s my son!” during Roman’s epic guitar solo. Even climate activist Greta Thunberg appears. Her brief, Leia Organa-esque cameo echoes Bushell’s message to “rise up” and insist governments around the world take action to fight climate change. “While I’m not old enough to vote, I can bring awareness to this problem,” said Bushell at the end of the video. “I hope this song emp...

“F*ck Twitter”: Dave Chappelle Defies Cancel Culture At Doc Screening In L.A.

HipHopWired Featured Video Source: Stacy Revere / Getty Dave Chappelle doesn’t appear to be too bothered by the outrage stoked up over his latest comedy special which contained a slew of jokes about the trans community and LGBTQ people, finally addressing it – somewhat – in front of a sold-out audience in Los Angeles, California on Thursday night (October 7th). “If this is what being canceled is about, I love it,” Chappelle said to a cheering audience of 18,000 (who had their phones locked up in magnetic pouches) at the Hollywood Bowl according to Deadline. Fans were on hand to watch the documentary (tentatively titled The Get Up) about his comedic summer camp held on his farm out in Ohio last year. “I don’t know what to tell you, except I’m a bad mother***er,” he reportedly continued. Cha...

Pooh Shiesty Faces Life In Prison For Role In Armed Robbery Involving Sneakers

HipHopWired Featured Video Source: Prince Williams / Getty Earlier this summer it was reported that Pooh Shiesty was arrested for an armed robbery and shooting that went down at Bay Harbor Islands hotel in Florida, and now it seems like he’s facing quite a lengthy prison sentence for his actions. According to Rolling Stone, the Memphis, TN rapper born Lontrell Williams, faces a possible life sentence for his role in the June robbery as he and his legal team are asking the court to revoke their own request to delay their trial and instead get it started earlier than they asked for. Initially Pooh and his co-defendants had asked for their October trial to be pushed to December stating that they needed more time to get their defense together, which was granted. But when the feds said tha...

The Real World Homecoming: Los Angeles will premiere exclusively on Paramount+ on Wednesday, November 24. The multi-episode docuseries will reunite original Los Angeles cast members Beth A, Beth S, David, Glen, Irene, Jon and Tami in the same iconic Venice beach house from 1993. Yes, we’re serious, Jon! “We’re back!” Beth S states in the first look above. And yes, “let’s do this,” Tami. But not everyone is feeling “polite.” Who is upset that they are “being cut off” while speaking — and storms off of a yacht...

Bop Shop: Songs From Mitski, Blackstarkids, Eartheater, And More

In case you haven’t heard, Remi Wolf is the moment. Fusing funk, soul, and pop with some of the most unhinged lyrics (“Orgy at Five Guys with five guys / That’s 10 guys and holy Christ / I’ve never seen more nuts in my life,” she sings in “Quiet on Set”), the L.A. artist is exceptionally herself. “Front Tooth,” which appears on her debut album Juno, out October 15, finds her taking on a more vulnerable voice than her typically braggadocious bops. “It don’t feel like it’s supposed to,” she croons, before comparing her relationship to “a Conor McGregor fight / Kicking out my front tooth.” Of course, there’s also a crunchy guitar solo, some dolphin noises, and a truly romantic moment when she dubs her lover “a garden gnome.” It is Remi Wolf, after all. —Carson Mlnarik You Deserve to Make Mone...

In tandem with the extended album release, Bieber also premiered the official Colin Tilley-directed music video for “Ghost,” a frontrunner on the original album. Between dramatic beachfront shots and mournful funeral s...

Vince Staples, Danny Brown and More Feature on The Alchemist’s New EP ‘This Thing of Ours 2’

The Alchemist has released This Thing of Ours 2, a sequel to April’s EP of the same name, with features from Vince Staples, Danny Brown and more. Similar to his last release, which consisted of a compact four songs, this new album contains only five. Across the EP, Alchemist introduces guest appearances on each track. North Carolina rapper MAVI drops bars on the inspirational “Miracle Baby,” while MIKE joins on the drum-heavy single “Lossless.” For “Flying Spirit,” the rapper and producer tapped members of the rap collective Bruiser Brigade, including frontman Danny Brown and members J.U.S., Bruiser Wolf and Fat Ray. The result is a spitfire single that embodies the distinct Detroit street talk sound of the group’s own music. On the subsequent song “Wildstyle,” another member of Bruiser Br...

Don Toliver Keeps Climbing the Ladder

Much of Don Toliver’s rapid rise to fame has been attributed to Travis Scott, and rightfully so. It was Scott who gave Toliver a feature on “Can’t Say”, off of his chart-topping ASTROWORLD LP, catapulting Toliver into the mainstream. But to suggest that Toliver’s ascent only came from Scott’s slipstream is to discredit his one-of-a-kind sound and work ethic. While Scott may have opened up doors by signing him to his Cactus Jack label, it’s been Toliver who has taken steps to steadily climb up the industry ladder. What makes the now-27-year-old talent so unique is his ability to eschew being boxed into one genre. Growing up, his musical influences were wide ranging, a sentiment reflected in his own music. “I came up in a family that was very much into music”, he told HYPEBEAST. “So I was li...
