During an appearance on the October 4 episode of SiriusXM‘s “Trunk Nation With Eddie Trunk”, STONE TEMPLE PILOTS guitarist Dean DeLeo spoke about how he and his brother, STP bassist Robert DeLeo, have managed to avoid the spectacularly intense fallouts that have plagued other musician brothers, namely Ray and Dave Davies of THE KINKS, Noel and Liam Gallagher of OASIS, and Chris and Rich Robinson of THE BLACK CROWES. “Things have been pretty good,” Dean said (as transcribed by BLABBERMOUTH.NET). “Things are pretty good. The creative process that takes place between Robert and I, and the rest of the band for that matter, it almost adds to our relationship. “Look, man, being in a band with my brother is extraordinary,” he continued. “IR...
During the first week of September, NONPOINT was on tour for the first time in two years. While traveling from one show to another, the band’s trailer unhitched and crashed into a wooded area, damaging equipment and merchandise. While all of this was going on, two of the bandmembers also contracted COVID-19 and had to leave the tour altogether. NONPOINT singer Elias Soriano told Tucson’s rock station Rock 102.1 KFMA about the band’s recent mishaps (as transcribed by BLABBERMOUTH.NET): “It started out as health concerns. Robb [Rivera, drums] wasn’t feeling well, and I wasn’t feeling well. A couple of tests came back positive, so we decided to pull off for a couple of days, hopefully, and see if we can get back on. We started kind of routing towards Blue R...
Venice, California crossover thrash/hardcore punk legends SUICIDAL TENDENCIES have regained control of their Instagram after recently being locked out of their account due to the band’s name. Earlier today, SUICIDAL TENDENCIES shared the following message via the Facebook-owned app: “So as a lot of you already noticed, our Instagram account was down for the last 3 weeks. Long story, this had nothing to do with ‘us’, but everything to do with our name 🙂 “This isn’t the first time we’ve been flagged but hopefully it will be the last,” the band added. In the mid-1980s, just as SUICIDAL TENDENCIES were seemingly in ascendancy into the big league their controversial name made them ripe targets for the moral majority. California’s police depa...
IRON MAIDEN singer Bruce Dickinson spoke to Pablo of the Minneapolis, Minnesota radio station 93X about his current spoken-word tour, which kicked off in his native United Kingdom in August. “It’s hopefully reasonably amusing,” Bruce said (as transcribed by BLABBERMOUTH.NET). “It’s a look at how a spotty kid from the middle of nowhere ended up being the singer in IRON MAIDEN wearing crazy trousers, and all points in between. And it covers the cancer thing. It covers a lot of the early-days stuff, like how I learned to sing, all the weird stuff that happened to me at school and what formed your personality [and] character — all done with a very dark sense of humor, I hope. And then we take a break, and then the last 45 minutes, one hour-ish is basically improv....
HipHopWired Featured Video It feels like it’s been a hot minute since we’ve heard The Game spit anything on a record, but the man hasn’t hung his mic up just yet and links up with an up and coming crooner for his latest drop. Linking up with Blaneoh for the visuals to “Different Flows,” Chuck Taylor kicks it with newcomer out in the West Coast to take in some of that desert sun before politicking at a nice mansion during the night. Lowkey surprised there weren’t any models invited to the evening soiree, but they probably heard “Wouldn’t Get Far” and felt a ways or something. Moneybagg Yo meanwhile takes to the sands with Blac Youngsta and Yo Gotti to enjoy some down time and blue waters for their clip to “New Chain.” Check out the rest of today’s drops including work from Philthy Rich, Dax...
Daft Punk‘s legacy will live on forever, especially when their biggest hits are remade using Tesla coils. To achieve this level of musicality, Fabricio H. Franzoli from the Franzoli Electronics YouTube channel meticulously tweaks the coils’ phase, pulse width, and firing frequency of the energy from the coils. By doing so he’s able to get them timed properly and formulate a song. Franzoli has done a few electrifying Daft Punk covers with the Tesla coils, but he doesn’t only perform music from the legendary robots. He also did a cover of a-ha’s “Take on Me” (but dubbed it “TAKE on ELECTRICITY”) using an “Easy-Flyback” driver, which is available on his website. That performance is achieved using the same methods as the Tesla c...
After two decades of pioneering the psytrance genre, Amit “Duvdev” Duvdevani and Erez Eisen of Infected Mushroom are somehow just getting started. Having formed in 1996 at the height of the electronic music boom, Infected Mushroom have since released over a dozen albums and earned a reputation as one of the best-selling groups in Israel and the dance music scene at large. Now the two are scheduled to head back home to where it all started to celebrate 25 years as a group at Israel’s Yarkon Park, in an annual gathering with their hometown fans. “We love going back to Israel where we started produc...
With California’s COVID infection rate among the lowest rates in the country, the city of Los Angeles is taking measures to keep it that way. On Wednesday, according to the Los Angeles Times, the Los Angeles City Council voted on and approved a new ordinance that would require people who go to indoor restaurants, bars, gyms, shopping centers, movie theaters, and yes, concert venues, to be fully vaccinated. Customers and attendees will have to show proof of vaccination for entry. As of now, New York City and San Francisco have similar laws, which caused some problems with some NBA players. It will go into effect on November 4, pending Mayor Eric Garcetti’s signing the measure into law. If businesses don’t abide by the law, they initially face a warning before fines escalate to $1,000 for th...
Pharrell Williams has announced that he may pull his Something in the Water festival from its original Virginia Beach location, according to Variety. The Grammy-winning artist announced his intentions in an open letter to the city’s manager Patrick Duhaney on Tuesday, citing the city’s “toxic energy,” specifically in regards to its handling of the police killing of his cousin, Donovan Lynch. “I love my city, but for far too long it has been run by and with toxic energy,” Williams wrote. “The toxic energy that changed the narrative several times around the homicide of my cousin, Donovan Lynch, a citizen of Virginia, is the same toxic energy that changed the narrative around the mass murder and senseless loss of life at Building Number 2.” Lynch was fatally shot by a Virginia Beach poli...
