Ben Affleck‘s feelings towards his time shooting Justice League with Joss Whedon have long been made public, but the actor has now revealed that reprising his role for DC Comics and Warner Bros.‘ upcoming The Flash movie with Ezra Miller was a much more pleasant experience. Speaking to Variety, the actor said that “It was a really nice way to revisit [Batman] as the prior experience had been difficult.” He continued to say that it was “really fun” and that he “had a great time” before jokingly saying “I’m probably under some gag order that I’m not even aware that I probably just violated and I’m now going to be sued.” Diving into more details about the actual production, Affleck also showed admiration for his co-star Miller, who plays the titular character in the film, as well as...
Ten years ago, James Blake released his debut album. The English songwriter-producer has a self-described analytical brain, which he uses to examine his old music and improve upon it. Within that past decade, Blake has slowly earned his spot as one of the most prominent indie-pop musicians out there. His list of collaborators includes Frank Ocean, Kendrick Lamar, Bon Iver, SZA, Travis Scott, and many others. He’s an artist that, despite his sparse compositions, only grows in stature. Now, with his fifth album, Friends That Break Your Heart (out on 10/8), he’s taken the time to look back at his career and scrutinize what’s changed. Regardless of his long and impressive résumé, the biggest difference that Blake notices between then and now is his self-esteem. “I’m just more confident,” Blake...
According to Business Insurance, a Los Angeles state court has refused to dismiss METALLICA‘s lawsuit against Lloyd’s Of London for allegedly failing to cover the band for financial losses suffered when the legendary heavy metal act was forced to postpone six shows in 2020 because of the pandemic. The California Superior Court said that it could not dismiss the lawsuit at this preliminary stage of the litigation because a “proximate cause” has not been established as to what caused the loss involved. The lawsuit stems from the cancelation of METALLICA‘s six-date tour of South America in April 2020. Just weeks prior to the tour’s scheduled launch, COVID-19-related travel restrictions were enacted in all parts of the world, giving METALLICA no choice but t...

Finnish cult black/epic metallers DARKWOODS MY BETROTHED, who feature in their ranks NIGHTWISH keyboardist Tuomas Holopainen, have released the official lyric video for their latest single, “Murktide And Midnight Sun”. The track is taken from DARKWOODS MY BETROTHED‘s upcoming full-length album, “Angel Of Carnage Unleashed”, which will be released on November 12 via Napalm Records. The LP sets free a unique blend of brutal, fast-driven black metal and epic anthems in which eerie screams merge with heroic clean vocals, monumental choirs and majestic keyboards along with gory stories of famine, war, plague and the inescapable brutality of Finland’s nature in the era of the Great Northern War (1700-1721). It features the old horde from the original 1993 line...
RAGE AGAINST THE MACHINE guitarist Tom Morello was the guest on the debut episode of the “Tuna On Toast With Stryker” podcast. During his appearance, Morello offered up some high praise for JANE’S ADDICTION, declaring that the Perry Farrell-fronted group “redeemed hard rock and metal music.” Morello first discovered JANE’S ADDICTION in the late 1980s. “They had made ‘Nothing’s Shocking’, but ‘Nothing’s Shocking’ hadn’t come out,” Morello recalled. “And I snuck into a JANE’S rehearsal and I was a big fan of them.” The future RAGE AGAINST THE MACHINE rocker was floored by what JANE’S ADDICTION brought to the table. “They were it,” he declared. “Because what they...

AFI released the new album Bodies in June, but the veteran rock act is already back with new music. Ahead of their 2022 US tour, the band has unveiled the new song “Caught.” The new track was recorded during the same sessions as Bodies but didn’t make the final tracklist. “We were really happy with ‘Caught’ and planned for it to be on the Bodies album,” said singer Davey Havok in a press release. “We ended up cutting it at the last minute to allow for a better album flow, but still really loved the song.” “Caught” is a love song that showcases the softer side of AFI, with Havok delivering heartfelt lines like, “Hold me for a second, without a sound, in the lightest, rare, requited kiss, you a light and I, abyss.” Toward the end of the song, around the 3:40 mark, Havok makes a powerful leap...
