Glastonbury Festival Attendees Drastically Increase Drug Pollution in River by Urinating: Report

Attendees at Glastonbury Festival, the U.K.’s largest music festival, have caused a significant increase in drug pollution in the river because of their toxic urination habits. Researchers and scientists are asking for patrons to change their habits of public urination at the festival. According to Newsweek, scientists found damaging traces of drugs in the Glastonbury river. The Whitelake and Redlake rivers flow by the Glastonbury Festival site. Back in 2019, scientists measured the water quality before, during, and after the festival both upstream and downstream of the festival location. They specifically tested for popular drugs like MDMA, cocaine, and benzoylecgonine. Researchers reportedly didn’t find any drastic changes but did find “notable traces” of all thre...

Roblox and NMPA Reach Agreement on Music Usage, Settle $200 Million Copyright Lawsuit

Roblox and the National Music Publishers Association (NMPA) have reached an agreement that will dismiss the latter’s $200 million lawsuit against the popular online game platform. The news comes less than a week after NMPA’s landmark deal with Twitch. Back in June, the NMPA sued Roblox after it found copyrighted music that it being used in the platform’s games without the proper licenses. The artists included deadmau5, Ariana Grande, Ed Sheeran, and the Rolling Stones, among many others.  With this current agreement in place, Roblox has the time and flexibility to negotiate with the NMPA’s clients individually and strike deals that are best suited for their artists. “We are pleased that the publishing industry sees the potential of Roblox to be a signific...

Tirzah: Colourgrade

Manicured, glossy, easily digestible music takes up so much space in pop culture that when an artist like Tirzah finds some success, you have to wonder: How? The London-based singer-songwriter’s 2018 debut, Devotion, was filled with offbeat R&B melodies and soft vocals that offered a quiet escape. It was pop music stripped of all its bells and whistles—introspective, DIY, off-kilter—instantly rising to cult status. On Colourgrade, Tirzah’s follow-up, the formula changes, but the effect doesn’t. Colourgrade trades those pop-adjacent structures for darker, more guttural elements and alien embellishments, creating a stunning collection of porous, avant-garde love songs and her most enigmatic project yet. Lying directly beneath Colourgrade’s glassy production and wavering vocals is a docum...

P.O.D. Members ‘Need To Be In The Same Room Together’ To Write New Music, Says SONNY SANDOVAL

In a recent interview with RadioactiveMike Z, host of the 96.7 KCAL-FM radio program “Wired In The Empire”, P.O.D. vocalist Sonny Sandoval once again confirmed that the three-time Grammy Award-nominated rock quartet has spent some of the coronavirus downtime compiling ideas for its next album. “We put together some stuff during the shutdown and all that stuff, but we’re a band that likes to jam,” he said (as transcribed by BLABBERMOUTH.NET). “We need to be in the same room together, looking at each other in the face and just vibing out, not just ‘Hey, send me a guitar track. Send me drums and bass.’ That’s cool, and you can do it, and 99 percent of the bands do it these days, but we need to be in the same room together and write some tu...

Grimes Shares New Song “LOVE” About “Online Hate”: Stream

Some of history’s best songs have come out of the wreckage of a breakup. Grimes’ new track “LOVE” is not one of those songs, but it stands as a fascinating peek into the mind of a wounded pop provocateur. She and her baby’s father Elon Musk announced their amicable split last week. Initially, Grimes filtered the breakup through her usual interests and humor, announcing that she and Musk would take joint custody of Jupiter’s moon Europa, where she planned to found a “lesbian space commune.” But jokes aside, the episode has clearly been painful, and Grimes has now moved on to the next stage of modern grief: an overly-earnest Instagram post. “I wrote and produced this song this week in response to all the privacy invasion, bad press, online hate and harassment by paparazzis I’ve experien...
