Paul Thomas Anderson’s Licorice Pizza: Alana Haim, Cooper Hoffman, and David Bowie Star in First Trailer
Paul Thomas Anderson has kept details of his latest film under wraps, only revealing that it was 1970s-era coming-of-age film and would feature Alana Haim (of HAIM fame), Cooper Hoffman (the son of late actor Philip Seymour Hoffman), and Bradley Cooper. Now, the acclaimed director has finally revealed the film’s title — Licorice Pizza — as well as the first trailer. Based on the two-and-a-half minute teaser, Haim and Hoffman are clearly the lead players in the film. The plot seems to revolve around Hoffman’s character, a high school student and aspiring actor, and his relationship with Haim. It’s all set in San Fernando Valley during the 1970s, which immediately calls to mind Anderson’s classic film Boogie Nights. GUNS N’ ROSES played its new song “Hard Skool” live for the first time during last night’s (Sunday, September 26) concert at Royal Farms Arena in Baltimore, Maryland. Disney Sues To Maintain Full Rights to All Marvel Characters
Walt Disney Company is filing a series of blockbuster suits to keep full control of the Marvel characters including, Iron Man, Spider-Man, Dr. Strange, Hawkeye, Black Widow, Thor and others. The New York Time has reported that the lawsuits are looking to invalidate copyright termination notices that have been served by these characters’ illustrators. Should Marvel lose the lawsuit, Disney would be forced to share ownership of these billion-dollar characters. The dispute first came into light when Marc Toberoff, a well-known intellectual property lawyer served Disney and Marvel Entertainment copyright terminations on behalf of five of his clients. In its latest true crime announcement, Netflix reveals Trust No One: The Hunt for the Crypto King, a new documentary that follows a group of investors turned amateur detectives as they try to unravel the suspicious death of crypto tycoon Gerry Cotten, founder of Quadriga Fintech Solutions which operated QuadrigaCX, the largest crypto exchange in Canada at the time. Upon Cotten’s death due to Crohn’s disease in 2019, what was thought to be around $250 million USD worth of digital currency was rendered inaccessible. His wife Jennifer Robertson reported that the only person who knew the password for QuadrigaCX’s offline crypto accounts was Cotten. ‘Gundam Breaker Battlogue’ Anime Receives Premiere Date
Following its original announcement in June, Bandai Namco has now finally announced the premiere date for the upcoming anime portion of its Gundam Breaker Battlogue project. Due to release in October, the new series will feature six episodes that will stream on both the official Gundam YouTube channel and the Gundam.info website every Thursday. The series is produced by Sunrise with Gundam Build Fighters: Battlogue veteran Masami Obari direction. Yuichiro Kitaoka and So Mayumi are writing the screenplay, while character design comes from Digimon Universe: Appli Monsters‘ Kenichi Ohnuki.
