Lauren Patten Thanks Trans and Nonbinary ‘Jagged Little Pill’ Colleagues While Accepting Best Actress in a Musical

Patten’s comments follow the news that the show’s lead producers, Vivek J. Tiwary, Arvind Ethan David and Eva Price, had hired the external firm Jay Hewlin and The Hewlin Group to investigate allegations made by former cast members, including nonbinary actor Nora Schell, who alleged in a social media post mistreatment by stage management and other members of the show’s creative leadership in regards to their health care. The producers also announced they are immediately launching an external review of the show’s policies and procedures. That followed a lengthy Sept. 17 statement to the production’s website and social media, acknowledging missteps in how they publicly spoke about and identified Patton’s character Jo, a lovestruck teen dealing with religious parents, their sexuality and a so...

In doing so, the 90-year-old actor will become the oldest person ever to go to space, breaking a record recently set by astronaut Wally Funk, who took a trip aboard the Blue Origin in July. Perhaps equally significant, Shatner will also be the first-ever inductee of the WWE’s Wrestling Hall of Fame to go to space. Blue Origin’s 11-minute sub orbital flight takes passengers more than 62 miles above Earth, including three minutes in zero gravity. In a new interview with Zoran Theodorovic of MetalgodZradiO, Dee Snider looked back on TWISTED SISTER‘s 1984 tour with IRON MAIDEN. “That’s when tours were tours and men were men,” the singer said. “There was no ‘hair metal’ — it was just ‘metal.’ In ’84, when we toured with MAIDEN, it had not been branded ‘hair metal.’ So MÖTLEY CRÜE toured with Ozzy [Osbourne]. And that tour [with MAIDEN] was one of the great tours. Five nights sold out at the Long Beach Arena. We were the opening band, and it was packed. When we hit the stage, it was packed. Usually, the opening band, people show up late. No — everybody was there to see TWISTED; they were there to see MAIDEN.” According to Snider, TWISTED SISTER‘s 1984 t...
