ALICE IN CHAINS guitarist and vocalist Jerry Cantrell, who is promoting his upcoming solo album, “Brighten”, was asked in a new interview with Andy Hall of the Des Moines, Iowa radio station Lazer 103.3 if he approaches writing music for AIC differently from the way he goes about composing for his solo LPs. He responded (as transcribed by BLABBERMOUTH.NET): “No, there really isn’t a difference. I’ve developed a style and a way that I write and that I sound, and that is pretty intact in either venue. I’m always kind of collecting ideas, and before I ever get together with ALICE to record stuff, I just feel better knowing that I’m walking into the room with the guys with a whole group of really good songs — complete songs or really worked up, almost-...
In a new interview with KNAC.COM, former MÖTLEY CRÜE singer John Corabi was asked which song he would be most looking forward to hearing if he went to catch a show on the band’s “The Stadium Tour” with DEF LEPPARD next summer. He responded: “I probably wouldn’t go. I went to go see MÖTLEY back when my tenure with the band ended. I saw them at the Hollywood Bowl, they were playing with AEROSMITH. It was brutal, because I wound up answering questions from the fans that recognized me. For that reason, I probably wouldn’t go. There’s multiple reasons why I wouldn’t go, but I use that one for this interview. “I do have to say that, for me, one of my absolute favorite MÖTLEY songs is ‘Primal Scream’. I love that tune, I love the r...

Goldenvoice has long dominated the Palm Springs music scene with events like Coachella, Stagecoach, and Splash House taking center stage. Adding to their repertoire of electronic music outings, the renowned event company has announced a new, two-day winter house and techno festival at the Palm Springs Air Museum. The inaugural affair will feature an array of underground electronic artists headlined by The Martinez Broth...

And building out Sony Latin’s business intelligence department — which parses data to help inform A&R, marketing and sales strategies — helped identify Rochy RD’s “Ella No Es Tuya” as it was gaining momentum on Dominican independent label Vulcano Music. The Sony Latin remix hit No. 30 on Billboard’s Hot Latin Songs chart, and was an even bigger sensation in Spain and South America. With each step, Gallardo is keeping an eye on the future. “As a label, we need to reinvent,” he says. “Nowadays, artists can ...
