Tems unveils “If Orange Was A Place” EP tracklist

Sensational Nigerian singer Tems will be releasing her sophomore EP “If Orange Was A Place” pretty soon as she unveils the tracklist.  A while ago, Tems announced she would be dropping another body of work this month. The title of her forthcoming EP is “If Orange Was A Place“. Last weekend she treated fans to the lead single off the project, “Crazy Tings“. It has been a phenomenal year for Tems after featuring prominently on Wizkid’s “Essence” that was remixed with Justin Bieber. The song has also gone top 20 on Billboard Hot 100 Chart. She was also featured on Drake’s “Certified Lover Boy” album on the track “Fountains“. “If Orange Was A Place” EP has tracks with songs and a couple of featured guests. All tracks were produced by GuiltyBeatz except track 3 produced by Jonah Christian....

SLANDER Pull the Plug on Inaugural Starbase Music Festival Due to COVID-19 Surge

The outer space-themed Starbase music festival has officially crashed to Earth. Starbase’s proprietors—electronic duo SLANDER—had revealed the Charleston festival back in June before unveiling a stellar lineup a month later featuring Alison Wonderland, NGHTMRE, and San Holo, among other dance music superstars. Now, Derek Andersen and Scott Land of SLANDER have taken to social media to share a statement announcing the cancellation of this year’s inaugural Starbase due to the impact of COVID-19. “Due to COVID-19 currently reaching peak levels in South Carolina, with new cases and hospitalizations at the highest level ever recorded, we have decided that now is not the time to have a music festival in the area,” the statement reads. “We have made this de...

Torn Arteries – CARCASS

RATING: 8.5/10 “Flesh Ripping Sonic Torment Limited” is the name of a track that begins the second half of “Torn Arteries”, the newest album from genre icons CARCASS. The song has a runtime of 9 minutes and 43 seconds. If you see that song length and worry that the venerable act that provided pivotal records that were grindcore and melodic death metal’s building blocks has now turned their attention to the more flowery waters of prog-metal or had slowed down their assault to a funeral-doom lurch, rest easy. Though the track does begin with a short bit of acoustic guitar strumming, the following exhaustive metallic assault is a pure display of sinister brutality. Jeff Walker‘s vocals are as guttural as ever, the guitar riffs generated by Bill Steer and ne...

GUNS N’ ROSES To Release Another New Song, ‘Hard School’, Soon

A new GUNS N’ ROSES song called “Hard School” (a.k.a. “Hard Skool”) will reportedly be released soon. The track, which had the working title “Jackie Chan”, was originally recorded during GN’R‘s “Chinese Democracy” era but was eventually omitted from that album. Short clips of the song were later posted online and a full version was leaked in August 2019. More recently, the partially reunited classic lineup of GUNS N’ ROSES rehearsed the track for its September 2019 concert at the Hollywood Palladium and it included the song on the setlist for some of its concerts on GN’R‘s summer 2021 tour but has yet to perform it live. Earlier today, a photo of a young GUNS N’ ROSES fan with singer Axl Rose was shar...

JASON NEWSTED Remembers Playing Advance Tape Of METALLICA’s ‘Black Album’ For FOREIGNER’s LOU GRAMM

In a new interview with the METALLICA fan-club magazine So What!, the band’s former bassist was asked how he felt when the recording sessions for METALLICA‘s 1991 self-titled album — better known as the “Black Album” — came to a close. He said (as transcribed by BLABBERMOUTH.NET): “Prideful is my first word. I was really, really proud. Confident and excited for people that I respected to hear it. “I remember I had a tape with three songs on it — I think it was ‘[Enter] Sandman’, ‘Nothing Else Matters’ and ‘Sad But True’ — on one tape that I carried in my pocket,” he continued. “And I would play it for people and stuff. Back then, you didn’t have to worry about anybody downloading shit. And we were all...

DAVID LEE ROTH: EDDIE VAN HALEN Is ‘Either In Heaven Raisin’ Hell Or He’s In Hell, Consequently In Heaven’

VAN HALEN singer David Lee Roth made an appearance at the MTV Video Music Awards Sunday night (September 12) at Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York. During a pre-show interview with US Weekly, Roth touched upon last year’s death of his VAN HALEN bandmate, legendary guitarist Eddie Van Halen, saying: My guitar player passed away, Eddie Van Halen. He’s either in heaven raisin’ hell. Or he’s in hell, consequently in heaven. Read into that as you wish. And he would have me say it just like that. And I carry on that spirit deliberately.” He later added: “And you know what? I just spoke to Alex Van Halen. We’re about to celebrate our 50th year or ragging on each other. [Laughs]” Eddie passed away last October at the age of 65. His death was annou...

Upsahl Announces Lady Jesus Album, Concert Event

Taylor Cameron Upsahl (A.K.A. Upsahl) is only 22, but she’s co-written some of the buzziest songs in pop, including “Good in Bed” for Dua Lipa and “Boyshit” for Madison Beer. Now, the Phoenix, Arizona-native is releasing her own debut indie-pop album, Lady Jesus, which arrives October 8 via Arista Records. In 2020, Upsahl released her first EP, Young Life Crisis. You also might have heard her song “Drugs” on TikTok. During the pandemic, it went viral and was used in more than 2 million videos. “Lady Jesus is an energy — a way of life,” Upsahl said in a statement. “Lady Jesus is unbothered, fiercely independent, and generally, a badass. Lady Jesus can be dressed to the nines, the life of the party, or can be chilling in sweatpants, hanging with friends. Lady Jesus can be anybody.” In c...

Sam Evian Trips With an Alien in New Video

Sam Evian released the video for the title track off his forthcoming record, Time to Melt. [embedded content] Opening with a serene, birds-eye-view of the luscious green hills surrounding his home, Evian is nestled within them, tending to a fire with his pup. He walks over to an unsuspected toilet in the forest, with a bright light bursting out from it. As if the light made him start tripping acid, a white-Morph-suited figure begins to dance for Evian, beginning the groovy, space-jazz song. Evian nonchalantly and not surprisingly accepts a joint from the sunglasses-wearing alien, and joins in on the Elvis/Bee Gees, free-spirited dancing. The drug-synced duo then sprays some can of “Melt!” into their mouths, sending their trip into the stars, and then finishing with a nap on the forest grou...

We Got ‘Shivers’ From Ed Sheeran’s Sweeping VMA Performance

By Deepa Lakshmin As the sun went down over New York City Sunday night (September 12), Ed Sheeran cranked up the volume for his outdoor set at the 2021 VMAs. Under the stars in the shadow of a sweeping skyline, he debuted a no-frills rendition of his new song, “Shivers,” at Brooklyn Bridge Park. This performance sadly doesn’t involve a romantic meet-cute with actress AnnaSophia Robb, as the single’s music video does, but you’ll still get goosebumps watching Sheeran’s sheer joy and wide smile onstage. (After the past few months, anyone who’s a fan of live music would probably have the same reaction.) The “Bad Habits” singer has always been a songwriter who can thrill a crowd with just his voice and trusty guitar — that’s been his M.O. ever since his first VMAs back in 2013 — so it’s no surp...

Lil Nas X Was On ‘Cloud 179’ After His Big Night At The VMAs

With the benefit of 12 hours of hindsight, it seems accurate to say that no one had more fun at the 2021 VMAs than Lil Nas X. He went into the night with five nominations and left with three, including the show’s top prize of Video of the Year. He brought his cinematic visions for both “Industry Baby” and “Montero (Call Me By Your Name)” to life onstage with a dazzling performance. And by the time MTV News got ahold of him backstage, LNX was searching very high in the sky for the right description to match his mood. “What does it feel like? I’m on cloud 179,” he told correspondent Dometi Pongo. Without missing a beat, because few understand the value of promotion as well as he does, LNX quickly added some key information in a single breath: &...

Young And Pregnant Sneak Peek: Kiaya Gets An Update About X’Zayveon’s Prison Release

Kiaya’s relationship with her son’s father X’Zayveon and his family is “complicated.” And now, the teen mom is revealing in a Young and Pregnant sneak peek that her status with her ex and relations with his mother Carla have sadly not improved since last season. “X’Zayveon has been locked up since before his son Amour was born,” the teenager states in the clip, below, from this week’s upcoming episode. “I’ve tried to keep him involved in his life, but co-parenting with someone in prison is hard.” There is also tension between Kiaya and Carla: The joint effort to “move forward” after a series of fights (some of which were featured on the series) did not last. “We got into another fight a few months ago, and I real...

After Ed Sheeran’s Math-Symbol Albums Comes ‘Five More Records With A Plan’

A decade ago, Ed Sheeran began a quest. He named his first album + (“Plus”) and his 2014 follow-up x (“Multiply”) as part of a master plan. “‘Multiply’ was called ‘Multiply’ because it made everything that was on ‘Plus’ bigger,” he told Entertainment Weekly in 2015. “From the venues to the songs to the radio plays to the sales. I don’t know what the theme on the next album is yet because I haven’t made it.” That ended up being 2017’s ÷ (“Divide), which, despite its more reductive title, became his biggest yet: It hit No. 1 in the United States and all over Europe, yielded chart-topping singles, and led to the highest-grossing tour of all time. It also made Sheeran a household name — so it ...
