Analogue‘s highly-anticipated Pocket handheld gaming device has now been hit with a third delay. Announcing the news over on Twitter, the company says that it now hopes to start shipping the Pocket out in December after manufacturing was affected by Coronavirus-related delays. “Unfortunately, due to new [COVID-19] restrictions with our assembly partners, their capacity to deliver within our agreed timeframe has been affected,” explains Analogue in a statement. “This has created a domino effect of delays beyond our control in what would otherwise be a seamless process.” “We understand how frustrating this is. It’s very frustrating for us, too,” the company continued. “We are excited to get these amazing devices in your hands as soon as possible.” Pocket pre-orders will be shipping at the la...
He returned to the fold in March 2000, when he joined forces with Gudinski to launch Mushroom Group’s Liberation label, and later, as managing director of the indie powerhouse’s label activities. In 2017, Costello and Gudinski co-founded the Bloodlines label, offering creative services to its stable of heritage acts. Just two months ago, Bloodlines had a No. 1 on the ARIA Albums Chart with Jimmy Barnes’ Flesh And Blood, the title track for which Barnes dedicated to Gudinski at the late industry legend’s state memorial in March. Throughout his career, Costello showed a knack for spotting an opportunity. In August of this year, he launched Mushroom Group’s new film distribution and production company, Long Play Music Films, with Phil Lynott: Songs For While I’m Away, Emer Reynolds’ award-win...

The Creative Arts Emmys are the lead-up to the 73rd annual Emmy Awards, which will be presented on Sept. 19. Several other notable music names or programs also won Creative Arts Emmys this year. Take a look: Choreographer Debbie Allen won two Emmys for her work on the Parton project – one as an executive producer and the other for for outstanding choreography for scripted programming. Allen is also set to receive the governor’s award from the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences on Sept. 19. These three Emmys in one year equal the number of Emmys Allen had received in her entire career prior to this year. She won two Emmys for her work on the series Fame in 1982-83 and one on the 1991 special, Motown 30: What’s Going On! Composer Steven Price won his first E...
Normani brought the audience to the “Wild Side” during Sunday night’s VMAs. The former Fifth Harmony member returned to the VMAs stage for the first time since she dribbled and dunked during “Motivation” on the 2019 awards show. Normani took to the stage this year and brought her new single, “Wild Side,” to life as she showed off her moves, dancing around a white stage against a solid backdrop, with an army of dancers behind her. But it was toward the end of her performance when Normani really reached her pleasure principle. Just when Normani did a literal mic drop, signaling the live act was over, was when Teyana Taylor was wheeled out, tied and bound to a structure. Normani then climbed up the structure and grinded and twerked against Taylor, bef...
Alicia Keys truly has the range. During the 2021 Video Music Awards on Sunday (September 12), the R&B legend took the stage with rapper Swae Lee at New York’s Liberty State Park for a performance of their recent collaboration, “Lala.” Lee stepped out first amid a sea of cobalt blue-clad dancers, and Keys followed suit in a glistening, form-fitting sequined gown. Keys then sashayed over to a chandelier-lit piano for a solo rendition of “Empire State of Mind,” her hit collab with Jay-Z from 2009. She performed the iconic song to commemorate the 20th anniversary of the devastating September 11 attacks on New York’s ...
By Deepa Lakshmin On the heels of premiering his new music video for “La Funka,” Ozuna brought his talent to the 2021 VMAs on Sunday night (September 12). His big moment at Brooklyn’s Barclays Center opened with a giant claw machine in the shadow of a spinning carousel and a crowd of teddy bears. It wouldn’t be an Ozuna performance without them, right? But this isn’t your average carnival. Ozuna and his crew crossed the stage to greet the MTV Moonperson glowing bright over the stage, Puerto Rican flag in hand — a nod to the ENOC singer’s roots. Then you see it: Earth rising in the background. This is an out-of-this-world carnival on the moon, complete with breakdancing teddies and neon palm trees. (The bears prepared for traveling the galaxy by donning spacesuits, as one does.) Ozuna previ...
You can call Lil Nas X by your name, or you can call him your 2021 Video of the Year winner. The “power bottom rapper” took home the top honor at the 2021 Video Music Awards on Sunday (September 12) for his fiery, unapologetically queer “Montero (Call Me By Your Name)” visuals. He beat out some stiff competition to do so, including Cardi B and Megan Thee Stallion (“WAP”), Doja Cat and SZA (“Kiss Me Me”), The Weeknd (“Save Your Tears”), Drake and DJ Khaled (“Popstar”), and Ed Sheeran (“Bad Habits”). “First, I want to say thank you to the gay agenda,” Nas X said in his acceptance speech after dancing his way to the podium. “Let’s go, gay agenda! … I love ...
Hot on the heels of Drake‘s latest solo effort Certified Lover Boy, collaborator Rick Ross shared that there’s a “good chance” his collab album with Drizzy will happen. Speaking to Ebro Darden and Peter Rosenberg on HOT 97, Rozay responded to the latter’s question of whether or not the joint project will happen. “It’s a good chance that may happen,” the Maybach Music Group founder said, adding, “Is it facts? Nah. Have we had that conversation? Of course we have.” Earlier this June, The Biggest Boss shared that he and Drake are both working on their solo projects but “the timing and everything is aligning,” continuing, “It’s something that we really want to give to the streets, on some real sh*t. So, it’s looking real solid. That’s the most I can say.” Two months later, the OVO he...
