My Morning Jacket Return Rock to Forest Hills Stadium: Concert Review

In August of 2019, My Morning Jacket performed at Queen’s Forest Hills Stadium, part of a special four-show stretch after a nearly two-year hiatus. The gigs were also billed as their last for a potentially longer period (and that was even without the unexpected virus that shelved all live music for over a year). Thankfully, the threat of another break — or full-on retirement — was staved off by the shows themselves, inspiring the band to get back in the studio and continue on. Two years and one month later, MMJ returned to Forest Hills on Friday, September 10th for the first concert of a two-night stint. A new self-titled record — their first freshly recorded material in six years — is on the horizon; pandemic lockdowns are in the rearview (for now); and the Jacket’s brand of jammy, psyche...

After nearly two years after his previous release on Wakaan, PEEKABOO has made a triumphant return with a mind-melting new single called “Black Hole.” “Black Hole” embodies the otherworldly, spacey sound fans and artists have come to love from the Detroit producer. A mesmerizing intro quickly captures attention with a subtly eerie atmosphere, trapping all who listen within an inescapable, bass-filled vortex. After nine months with only one new song, “Black Hole” is exactly what fans have been craving from PEEKABOO. PEEKABOO’s steady rise to dominance has kept all eyes on him since debuting the project in 2017. Earlier this year, he collaborated with Marshmello on their tune “Pushin Stacks” and teased a new track with REZZ...

Listen to CloZee’s Eclectic, 13-Track “Muzique Vol. 1” Compilation

CloZee has put her eclectic taste on full display once again, releasing a 13-track compilation via her Odyzy Music imprint.  Odyzey- Muzique Vol. 1 is a diverse compilation, embracing the world bass sound CloZee has championed throughout her career. Among the 13 tunes included are tracks from Tripp St., il:lo, 9 Theory, Edamame, Saltus, and more. Each has included a song that not only fits the theme of the compilation but simultaneously stays true to their unique individual sounds as well.  NotLö’s “Within” is a perfect example, as she’s stayed in tune with her wobbly sound while embracing the multifaceted feel of the project. Saka has taken a similar approach on his song “Yasha,” holding onto bassy elements listeners may find familiar fr...

GEOFF TATE Performs QUEENSRŸCHE Classics In Pawling, New York (Video)

Fan-filmed video footage of Geoff Tate‘s September 9 performance at Daryl’s House restaurant and music club in Pawling, New York can be seen below. The months ago, the former QUEENSRŸCHE singer announced rescheduled dates for the next European leg of his tour celebrating the 30th anniversary of “Empire” and “Rage For Order” albums. 1986’s “Rage For Order” introduced a much more polished look and sound for QUEENSRŸCHE. The album featured keyboards as prominently as guitars, and the group adopted an image more closely associated with glam rock or glam metal than with heavy metal (of which glam metal was a subgenre). A video was filmed for the song “Gonna Get Close to You”, originally recorded in 1984 by DALBELLO. Released in 1...
