TESLA’s FRANK HANNON Went Through ‘A Month Of Hell’ After Contracting COVID-19

TESLA guitarist Frank Hannon says that he went through “a month of hell” after contracting COVID-19. A month ago, TESLA announced it was postponing a few shows after Hannon tested positive for COVID-19, the disease caused by the novel coronavirus. At the time, Hannon wrote in a social media post that he had “not been able to move all week” and revealed that he woke up with a 102-degree fever and could “hardly breathe” on the day that TESLA was scheduled to leave for tour. Now, in a new interview with Meltdown of Detroit’s WRIF radio station, Hannon opened up about his COVID-19 battle, saying (as transcribed by BLABBERMOUTH.NET): “It kicked TESLA‘s ass pretty good — all of us. Myself, I got vaccinated, but it was a little too late. I was...

SLASH: METALLICA’s Black Album ‘Crossed Over In A Way That Made Them A Household Name’

SPIN is celebrating 30 years of METALLICA‘s self-titled LP, better known as the “Black Album,” by asking 30 artists to share what the effort means to them. Among the musicians paying tribute to the record is GUNS N’ ROSES guitarist Slash, who said: “I think any METALLICA album is a given for a hard rock/metal record collection. They are the pinnacle of that style of music, and they were among the first bands to revolutionize that particular style and sound. But the Black Album crossed over in a way that made them a household name and they achieved that while maintaining their sonic integrity, songwriting and attitude. They took their signature style and recorded an album that became universally accessible, but still fucking cool. That is no small feat and mayb...

KORN Recruits LOVE AND DEATH’s J.R. BAREIS After MUNKY Is Sidelined With COVID-19

KORN has recruited J.R. Bareis to fill in for James “Munky” Shaffer while the guitarist is recovering from COVID-19. Bareis, who is also in the band LOVE AND DEATH with KORN guitarist Brian “Head” Welch, previously stepped in for Shaffer in August 2019 when Munky was forced to miss several KORN shows due to the impending birth of his child. Bareis played his first concert of 2021 with KORN last night (Thursday, September 9) at USANA Amphitheater in Salt Lake City, Utah. Fan-filmed video footage of the show can be seen below. Last year, Welch told Ultimate Guitar about J.R.: “He’s 25 years old. He started with me at 15 years old on the road. and I’ve known the kid since he was little. I’m kind of inspirational to him because I’m older, I...

ADEMA Is Planning To Release A New Single ‘Every Six To Eight Weeks’

Last month, ADEMA released its first single in nearly a decade, “Ready To Die”. The song is taken from the band’s upcoming album, “360 Degrees Of Separation”. In a brand new interview with Michael Nagy of Discoveringbands.com, ADEMA frontman Ryan Shuck (ORGY, JULIEN-K, DEAD BY SUNRISE), who joined the group in 2019, stated about the track: “‘Ready To Die’ took the better part of the last two years to kind of develop. It’s not like we sat down and took two years to write the song, but when I joined the band, we kind of needed to figure out whether or not a) I would work in the band, and it turned out to work; on the first tour, it worked really, really well. And then b) would be what do we sound like and where do we go with me as the sin...

Nicki Minaj’s Husband Pleads Guilty for Failing to Register as a Sex Offender

In March 2020, the 43-year-old Petty registered with the California Megan’s Law database, which tracks local sex offenders in California, where he and Minaj currently live with their infant son, and had his charges dropped by the Los Angeles District Attorney’s office. But he still faced federal charges from the Department of Justice — which this plea deal addresses. Petty is now scheduled for sentencing on Jan. 24, 2022. The New York State department labels Petty as a level-two sex offender, which deems him of having a moderate risk of a repeat offense, after he was convicted of attempted rape in the first degree in 1994. United States attorney Tracy L. Wilkison and assistant U.S. attorney Sarah E. Gerdes represented the U.S. Attorn...
