SZA Shares New Song “The Anonymous Ones”: Stream

As SZA fans await news of her next album, the New Jersey singer has unveiled “The Anonymous Ones,” a new song off the soundtrack to the film adaptation of Dear Evan Hansen. Stream it below. The track was written specifically for the coming-of-age movie by Benj Pasek, Justin Paul, and Amandla Stenberg. The latter artist stars as Alana Beck and performs the song in the Dear Evan Hansen musical film, which hits theaters nationwide on September 24th. Sleigh Bells return today with their new album, Texis. The New York noise-pop duo’s sixth studio set, released via Mom+Pop, has technically been in the works since 2017, and was recorded between members Alexis Krauss and Derek E. Miller’s homes. Texis spans 11 tracks in total, and includes the previously-released singles “Locus Laced,” “Justine Go Genesis,” and “True Seekers.” Though it’s been over a full decade now since Sleigh Bells’ acclaimed debut, Treats, Texis still feels right in line with the band’s gritty, proto-hyperpop roots. NAMM Nudges Winter Gathering to June, Citing Pandemic Challenges

No more NAMM Show in Nashville, in 2022 at least. The National Association of Music Merchants (NAMM) is delaying its winter show to June, when the music trade show will be held in-person at the Anaheim Convention Center in Anaheim, Calif. The show, where exhibitors showcase the latest in music gear and technology, was originally scheduled for Jan. 20-23 of next year. But according to a press release, concerns over the pandemic, new product development, available in-store inventory and travel restrictions led organizers to move the show to June 3-5. SZA has released a new song off of the soundtrack for the upcoming movie Dear Evan Hansen called “The Anonymous Ones,” an exploration of hiding one’s emotions and the desire to let the truth come to the surface. “Keep on keeping secrets that they think they have to hide,” she sings. “What if everybody’s secret is they have that secret side?” The heartfelt single is one of several that will be released off of the soundtrack in the weeks leading up to the film’s debut on September 24.
