Two of Kanye West‘s cuts from DONDA have debuted in this week’s Billboard Hot 100 top 10. As per Billboard, the tracks “Hurricane” and “Jail” entered at No. 6 and No. 10 respectively. Both songs were driven almost fully by streaming, with “Hurricane” debuting at No. 1 and “Jail” at No. 3 on the Streaming Songs chart with 29 million and 24.2 million streams, respectively. The tracks’ top 10 debut officially gives Ye his 19th and 20th top 10 entries, making him only the 21st artist in history to achieve this feat. Joe Satriani‘s longtime manager Mick Brigden died on September 5 following an accident on his property at his home in Santa Rosa, California. He was 73. Mick spent decades managing and road managing the likes of HUMBLE PIE, MOUNTAIN and Peter Frampton, in addition to Van Morrison, Taj Mahal and Carlos Santana, among others. MAMMOTH WVH‘s latest single “Don’t Back Down” has reached No. 1 on the Active Rock chart. The song has been gaining momentum since it impacted radio in April and the week of September 6 sees it grab the top spot on both the Mediabase and BDS Active Rock charts. “Don’t Back Down” was released five months ago and has over six million combined streaming impressions. Workwear brand Carhartt teamed up with METALLICA‘s All Within My Hands foundation this Labor Day with the goal of training a new generation of skilled workers. A total of $377,450 was raised from online sales and will be donated to the foundation’s Metallica Scholars workforce education program, which connects students to hands-on learning and provides support to 23 schools via the American Association of Community Colleges. Anette Olzon has long since watched her NIGHTWISH experience dissolve in the rear-view, but there is still a strong sense that the Swede deserves another solid shot at glory.
