What were your thoughts when you saw Bonnaroo was canceled? That was so brutal because that’s not even COVID that f–ked it. It was mother nature. People talk about Bonnaroo cancelling and are like, “Oh yeah. That sucks.” But they don’t think about the ripple effect. It’s massive. Bands are all routed around Bonnaroo and this impacts all those shows. They just got pummeled too. All the bus drivers, the lighting rig techs, and everyone lost jobs. It’s Manchester, Tennessee. That’s probably a huge economic driver for that city. It’s devastating. There were bands that were looking at that gig and thinking, “That’s going to pay my rent.” All those people are on-site building it out and they just got pummeled. Putting somethi...
But just before 2016 ended, Yebba agreed to perform alongside Chance the Rapper for his Saturday Night Live appearance — and ended up stealing the show. She and her team, then a bare-bones operation led by co-manager Ross Michaels and his Park Avenue Artists team, decided to capitalize on the moment and uploaded a clip from the Sofar set of Yebba singing her first original song, “My Mind.” It went viral, raking in over 18 million YouTube views. “It was like a one-two punch,” says Michaels. That kind of start-stop trajectory has hampered Yebba’s promising launch for nearly five years, with her fans begging for her debut album online. “There has never been a moment where I was like, ‘Man, we really lost out,’ because when she puts out a song, it’s amazing,” says Michaels. “It has this e...

Bruce Dickinson has defended his past comments on Brexit, saying that he is “less concerned with IRON MAIDEN‘s position” and more worried about the “younger” British musicians who don’t have the resources and the time to go through all the paperwork required to tour across Europe after Britain’s departure from the European Union. During a June 2021 appearance on Sky News, the MAIDEN singer, who previously admitted he voted to leave the EU, said that Brexit was making it harder for British acts to do tours and concerts in Europe and that the government should be doing more to help. Predictably, his complaints fell on deaf ears, as many rushed to social media to mock his plight, noting how quick he was to change his stance when it began to affect him...
MOTIONLESS IN WHITE frontman Chris “Motionless” Cerulli spoke to Ethan Jackson of the Topeka radio station V100 about the progress of the recording sessions for the band’s follow-up to 2019’s “Disguise” album. He said (as transcribed by BLABBERMOUTH.NET): “All that’s really left to do is record the vocals, which I’m gonna start right after this tour. I was in California working with our producer Drew [Fulk] throughout a lot of the summer. And now it’s just, like, okay, well, we’ve got everything in place, all of the stuff’s written. Now it’s just time to record the vocals. The music’s all good. So, yeah, as soon as this tour is over, I’m going right there and working on it till it’s done.”...
