Brandi Carlile Performs Gorgeous Cover of Joni Mitchell’s “Woodstock”: Watch
Brandi Carlile has always been upfront about her love for Joni Mitchell, often playing songs by the folk legend onstage while on tour. Over the weekend, though, Carlile played a particularly special set for SiriusXM’s Small Stage concert series where she broke out a show-stopping cover of “Woodstock,” an underrated Mitchell song from her 1970 album Ladies of the Canyon. Baby Keem Announces Release Date for Debut Album The Melodic Blue, Shares Trailer
After years of teasing and slowly rolling out songs, Baby Keem has finally announced the release date for his debut studio LP. It’s called The Melodic Blue and it’s due out September 10th through his cousin Kendrick Lamar’s elusive production company pgLang via Columbia. Watch a teaser trailer for the new album below. The Melodic Blue is technically Baby Keem’s first-ever album, serving as the follow-up to his 2019 mixtape Die for My Bitch. So far, he’s previewed the album with the Travis Scott collaboration “Durag Activity” and his excellent single “Family Ties” featuring Kendrick. In the midst of the Certified Lover Boy versus DONDA discussion, Consequence came to Kanye West‘s defense by dissing Drake on the cut “Party Time.” The three-minute cut hears Consequence both hint at and namedrop Drake several times. SABATON Founders Ordered To Pay Hundreds Of Thousands Of Dollars To Swedish Tax Agency
According to the Swedish newspaper Aftonbladet, SABATON founders Joakim Brodén and Pär Sundström have been ordered by the Swedish Tax Agency (Skatteverket) to pay hundreds of thousands of dollars in tax surcharges. The Swedish Tax Agency, which manages civil registration of private individuals and collects taxes such as personal income tax, corporate tax, VAT and excise tax, believes that Brodén and Sundström did not report their income from USA tours in 2016-2018 correctly. As a result, each one of the musicians will have to cough up a substantial amount to settle his debt. Brodén, who writes all of the music for SABATON, is the one who is facing the biggest tax blow, having been ordered to pay back more than two million Swedish kronor (more than $233,000). Daniel Scali, an Australian man with CRPS (complex regional pain syndrome), has broken the world record for the longest time in the abdominal plank position (male) with a time of nine hours 30 minutes and one second, according to the Guinness World Records. Scali set the record on August 6, 2021, in Adelaide, Australia. His time beats the previous record of eight hours 15 minutes and 15 seconds, which was set in February of last year by ex-marine George Hood, who was 62 years old at the time. The Wire staple Michael K. Williams has died at 54 years old. Marianna Shafran of Shafran PR, the late actor’s longtime representative, confirmed the sad news to The Hollywood Reporter, “It is with deep sorrow that the family announces the passing of Emmy-nominated actor Michael Kenneth Williams. They ask for your privacy while grieving this insurmountable loss.” A representative from the New York Police Department also affirmed that Williams was found dead in his home in Brooklyn on the afternoon of Monday, September 6, however a cause of death was not revealed.
