For the music business, he tells Billboard, “there’s really no pathway out of...

Jason Momoa Debuts New Aquaman Dark Suit for Upcoming Sequel

Jason Momoa has taken to Instagram to unveil a bombshell announcement to his fans. In an effort to tease fans of the upcoming DC sequel, Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom, the actor has revealed a new suit, drawing comparisons with the old get-up. The new fit is a dark contrast to the comic-accurate gold and green threads seen in the final scenes of the previous DC Extended Universe film. It appears that the new film will see the Ocean Master ditch the comic-accurate suit and go for a darker aesthetic, taking a page from Zack Snyder’s Justice League‘s outfit for Superman. Some have drawn comparisons of the new suit to Black Manta, Aquaman’s archnemesis. Manta is set to be played by Yahya Abdul-Mateen II and will be the main villain in the forthcoming film. Abdul-Mateen played a supporting chara...

Bassam Tariq, the director of the upcoming Blade reboot starring Mahershala Ali, shared that they will pay tribute to Wesley Snipes‘ original trilogy. The filmmaker paid his respects to Snipes in a recent interview with IndieWire and shared his thrill in working on the new reboot. “What’s exciting about the film that we’re making is [there] hasn’t been a canon for ‘Blade,’ as we’re reading through the comics and everything,” Tariq said. “Him being a daywalker is the one thing that’s been established, and you know we can’t deny what Wesley Snipes did, which was he basically got this whole ball rolling. A Black man created the superhero world that we’re in, that’s just the truth. For me to now be working with somebody as talented and a juggernaut as Mahershala Ali, and the writer S...

Here Is Every Sample on Drake’s ‘Certified Lover Boy’ Album

As the music world continues to digest Certified Lover Boy album, music education YouTube channel bandstand has delivered a breakdown of every sample on Drake‘s sixth studio project. Kicking off the 21-track release, “Champagne Poetry” directly utilizes the pitched and looped intro from Masego’s 2017 track “Navajo.” The same sonic sensibility is continued throughout the song with a section from “Until I Found the Lord” from The Gabriel Hardeman Delegation. Notorious B.I.G‘s “Life After Death (Intro)” appears on “Love All” and the original version of “Dead Wrong” serves as the base of “Race My Mind.” Other iconic rap samples come in the form of Bun B‘s “Get Throwed” on “N 2 Deep” and Three 6 Mafia‘s “N*ggaz Ain’t Barin’ Dat” on “No Friends In The Industry.” While fellow Canadian artist Char...

In a new interview, Angelina Jolie opened up about how Harvey Weinstein affected her relationship with ex-husband Brad Pitt. Speaking to The Guardian, the actress first reiterated her experience with the disgraced Hollywood producer while filming 1998’s Playing by Heart. “If you get yourself out of the room, you think he attempted but didn’t, right?” she said. “The truth is that the attempt and the experience of the attempt is an assault.” (Weinstein has denied Jolie’s experience in the past. She was just 21 years old at the time.) The Those Who Wish Us Dead star went on to reveal she later turned down a role in 2004’s The Aviator alongside Leonardo DiCaprio to avoid working with the producer again. “I said no because he was involved. Patty Jenkins Slams Movies on Streaming Services: “They Look Like Fake Movies to Me”

Patty Jenkins appeared at CinemaCon earlier this week and let’s just say the Wonder Woman director, ahem, didn’t hold back when it came to her opinion about the intersection of film and streaming services. “Aren’t you seeing it? All of the films that streaming services are putting out, I’m sorry, they look like fake movies to me,” she said during Tuesday’s event, according to the Los Angeles Times. “I don’t hear about them, I don’t read about them. It’s not working as a model for establishing legendary greatness.” Jenkins particularly took issue with her own film, Wonder Woman 1984, debuting on HBO Max the same day it hit theaters last Christmas, saying, “I don’t think [Wonder Woman 1984] plays the same on streaming, ever. I’m not a fan of day-and-date and I hope to avoid it forever…I make...
