SEBASTIAN BACH Says ‘There Is No Reason’ Why Classic SKID ROW Lineup Shouldn’t Reunite: ‘We’re Not Getting Any Younger’

Sebastian Bach says that “there is no reason” why a reunion of SKID ROW‘s classic lineup shouldn’t materialize. Bach fronted SKID ROW until 1996, when he was fired. Instead of throwing in the towel, the remaining members took a hiatus and went on to play briefly in a band called OZONE MONDAY. In 1999, SKID ROW reformed and, after a bit of shuffling over the years, featured a lineup consisting of bassist Rachel Bolan, guitarists Dave “Snake” Sabo and Scotti Hill, alongside drummer Rob Hammersmith and singer Johnny Solinger. SKID ROW fired Solinger over the phone in April 2015, a few hours before announcing ex-TNT vocalist Tony Harnell as his replacement. Eight months later, Harnell exited the band and was replaced by South African-born, British-based sing...

With the release of her empowerment anthem “Future Starts Now” last Friday, the German-born pop singer Kim Petras declared the beginning of a promising, glittering new musical era. Blu Announces New Album The Color Blu(e), Shares “People Call Me Blu(e)”: Stream

Blu has announced the new — or should that be n(e)w? — album The Color Blu(e). The record is due out September 24th, and every song will come with the word ‘blu(e),’ including lead single “People Call Me Blu(e).” “This album is the ultimate cartoon series about myself,” Blu explained in a statement. “The Color Blu(e) is the cool breeze.  Another day in the life of being Blu.” Produced by Exile, “Call Me Blu(e)” is a bracing reintroduction to Blu’s sample-forward, golden age throwback sound. Lyrically, the onetime J Dilla collaborator mocks people who try too hard while also sending up his own complacency. “Blue is the color of the sky today,” he spits, “And mostly everyday when you live in LA/ The problem is the smog can make the city turn grey/ And we all know that ain’t go...

Poll: Only 1% of Californians Want Caitlyn Jenner to be Governor

In the midst of crisis, Californians recall a Democratic governor and elect a moderate Republican with little political experience but high name recognition. It worked for Arnold Schwarzenegger in 2003, but Caitlyn Jenner doesn’t seem likely to repeat the trick. The reality TV star and Olympic gold medalist is only favored by between 1% and 2% of voters, according to multiple polls ahead of the September 14th election. Part of that is the simple fact that most Californians are Democrats, and they seem to be backing current governor Gavin Newsom. Via the FiveThirtyEight poll tracker, something like 52% of Californians have told pollsters they’ll vote to keep Newsom, compared to about 44% who would like him removed. A normal polling error would make the election extremely competitive, but ev...

Vince Neil Tried Out Fat-Burning Procedure Ahead of Motley Crüe Tour

In news you probably weren’t dying to know, Vince Neil took to social media yesterday to show off a fat-burning procedure he underwent to get stage-ready for his tour with Mötley Crüe. “Trying it all! Check out Emsculpt Neo abs, They say it’s 20,000 crunches in just 30 minutes!!” he wrote alongside a video of himself doing a series of ab exercises before getting hooked up to the Emsculpt Neo machine. It’s worth noting that his post also contains the hashtag “#emsculptpartner,” so one is left to wonder how much he’s being compensated for this blatant #sponcon. Check out Neil’s Emsculpt Neo procedure after the jump. The Mötley Crüe frontman is scheduled to hit the road with the band on a co-headlining stadium tour next year with Def Leppard. For his part, David Lee Roth turned his nose ...

15 Minute Live Performances: Naia Izumi

Sometimes discovering new talent can come from the most obvious of places. In the case of Naia Izumi, the guitarist, soul singer and producer, winning NPR’s Tiny Desk contest in 2018 was the jolt the talented musician needed. But his story goes far beyond being the victor in a competition in an esteemed contest on public radio. Born and bred in Los Angeles, and diagnosed with autism at the age of 16, Izumi is a wizard on the guitar. Prior to his big break in 2018, he dazzled audiences in Hollywood as a street busker and when he wasn’t working on his music, Izumi was an electrician. Now, all of these years later, Izumi is doing the thing he knows best: playing great music. As you can see in his 15 Minute Performance below, he seamlessly blends futuristic-tinged R&B with spacey rock to c...

Roblox Introduces Voice Chat With ‘Spatial Voice’ Beta

Roblox is introducing a new voice chat feature called “Spatial Voice,” starting with an invitation-only beta for select developers, the gaming platform announced on Thursday. “With Spatial Voice, Roblox creators will begin to test developing experiences where conversations can happen in a realistic way, mirroring how we listen and respond to the world around us each day,” Roblox’s chief product officer Manuel Bronstein wrote in a blog post. The feature will likely require users’ avatars to be close to one another in order to hold a conversation, based on the company’s “realistic” approach to in-game voice chat. According to TechCrunch, Roblox will first roll out the feature to 5,000 developers above the age of 13. The company may never provide voice chat for children on the platf...
