Rammstein’s Till Lindemann Questioned by Russian Police Prior to Festival Cancellation

Rammstein singer Till Lindemann was questioned by Russian police prior to the cancellation of a music festival in the city of Tver. Lindemann was booked to play the festival, which reportedly would have violated COVID-19 protocols. Exaggerated reports circulated this weekend claiming that Lindemann had been arrested by police. Rather, police only visited the Rammstein singer’s hotel on Saturday night. According to German newspaper Bild (via DW), the purpose of the meeting was to make sure Lindemann complied with COVID regulations while performing in Tver. Ultimately, the event was canceled outright. However, Lindemann’s manager, Anar Reiband, does face charges after allegedly violating Russia’s migration laws. When initially entering the country, Reiband apparently claimed the purpose...

Ranking Every Kanye West Album From Worst to Best

This article originally ran in 2016 and has been updated. Welcome to Dissected, where we disassemble a band’s catalog, a director’s filmography, or some other critical pop-culture collection in the abstract. It’s exact science by way of a few beers. This time, we sort through the best and worst of Yeezy country. Over the years, Kanye West has been many things to many different people. He started off as Jay-Z’s secret weapon, a budding super-producer pumping out hits like “Izzo (H.O.V.A.),” “Takeover,” and “Encore,” prompting Jay-Z to interrupt The Black Album to shout, “Kanyeezy, you did it again, you a genius!” That was probably one of the last times West was called Kanyeezy, and one of the first times the g-word was tossed around. In 2004, West launched his solo career and sold himself t...

Senjutsu – IRON MAIDEN

RATING: 9/10 IMO a legitimate, valid case can be made for the assertion that IRON MAIDEN is the greatest heavy metal band of all time. Six years have passed since the release of the English band’s last album, 2015’s “The Book of Souls”, and the legendary act returns now to close the longest gap between albums with “Senjutsu”, an ambitious double album. In short, the album is absolutely magnificent. It’s one that remains true to the band’s core sound while simultaneously facilitating the band’s ongoing, unyielding musical curiosity and creativity. True to the band members’ recent public claims, “Senjutsu” includes some material that will surely surprise many longtime listeners. The opening, title track, for instance, pr...
